Wireless Hygometer/Temp Unit

Is anyone using a wireless hygrometer/Temp set-up in their Humidor?

I have 2 humidors and I would like 1 -primary display with 2 remote/wireless sensors in each humidor.

Companies like La Crosse and Acurite make units that perform these functions and also are wireless and remote.

I'd like to know if any folks are using them as Humidor monitors and their preference to the unit itself.

Thanks,
Chris

Riley, this is the one I want.

I doesn't really reference the original quality question, but it's another option in case you haven't seen it yet.

I use this Oregon Scientific with great success (monitors up to 3 remote sensors at one base station - 1 sensor included)

I hope this helps

Don't have it yet, it's a new product and they are still working on getting them out for retail if I understand it correctly. I think the probes will be just like the one Mark linked.

Re: Wireless Hygometer/Temp Unit

As I was researching this - thanks Mark and Ray.

I realized I have a La Crosse base station that I could add remote sensors to.
http://www.weatherconnection.com/pro...p?itmky=446346

**Yeah Oscar rocks the weather garb for me**

I picked up 2 addtional sensors (at 12.95 a piece) for each Humidor and can now run through the 3 channels.
Channel #1 - Actual outdoor data
Channel #2 - Humidor #1
Channel #3 - Humidor #2

Sweet - Solved the short term problem

Are the remote stations calibratable? Do you salt test them?

I've salt tested my sensors. I test the sensors just like I would any other hygrometer.

JUST an FYI: I have the oregon scientific model with two sensors, I've used it a couple years with no problems.

Great question. I salt tested mine when I first got the base and the sensor.

I figured that was over kill since it was for the actual weather but I wanted to know. I will do the same with these two new sensors.

Thanks Dgar glad to know I'm not the only one curious with the salt test.
