Gurkha cigars thus far disappointed

A friend of mine and I recently purchased a Gurkha sampler from CI and I finally got a chance to give them a try. The first Gurkha had a silver band (don't remember the name) and wouldn't stay lit for the life of me. The cigar wasn't very good to begin with and ultimately ended up in the trash after much frustration. Today I took out a Gurkha Regent and hoped for the best. The draw was good, but it felt as if the cigar was not tightly rolled. After about 1/2 of the way down, this cigar became very spicy and hot. I wasn't impressed whatsoever. For the time being, I am not very happy with our purchase. If anyone would like to trade for some of my Gurkha's, please feel free to PM me.

I am going to stick with the premium smokes; i.e. Padron '64...

The Legend is the only one I've had that I don't hate. I actually kinda like them when they are free.

The "Connecticut Reserve" from CI are the only Gurkhas I would ever spend another dollar on.

And that's what I would pay for them. A dollar.

Re: Gurkha cigars thus far disappointed

I still have some Master Selects that I bought when I first started on the slope back in October 07. I also have some Regents from December that I didn't like then, but they have aged a little and are better. The real problem is that since I have been on CS and have tried Padrons, DP, MC and AFs, I just won't buy anymore Gurkhas. Do I hate Gurkhas, no, but when it comes to spending bucks on cigars, I'm going to buy what I like and prefer to smoke.
