Nic Buzz?

Perhaps a dumb question, but I was wondering, you guys who speak of being knocked back by nicotine in a cigar, do you inhale? I've never experienced a nicotine buzz in any cigar, but I don't inhale...so perhaps that's what I'm doing wrong :P Or I just haven't smoked enough LFDs...

Re: Nic Buzz?

I get a buzz sometimes from cigars and I don't inhale. I am fairly new to smoking in general though.

Re: Nic Buzz?

Oh yeah, got some wicked nic buzzes and don't inhale. Inhalation probably occurs for everyone, but only a small amount. Normal breathing and talking will cause it to happen. If you keep the cigar in your mouth longer than normal or you smoke too fast, you're likely to feel it. Try an El Rico Habano (NC cigar) or LFD. Smoke them at a good pace, a big toke every 20-30 seconds or so. Then, hang on!!!

Re: Nic Buzz?

I tend to get buzzed from most fuller bodied cigars. I don't inhale, but it all depends on the person. My buddy doesn't inhale, we can smoke the same cigar (this happened at a herf on thursday) and he got a nic "high" and ended up bent over in the ally while I was good to go. A lot of factors go into it, and I am by no means the right person to try and explain it. But I'm sure some of the mor experienced BOTL's will be in here shortly.

I don't inhale either, but have fallen victim to the "hold on let me sit down"

Re: Nic Buzz?

There are many variables that work into this! But, indeed, you don't need to inhale to get a nic buzz! An empty stomach or quickly puffing can give you a buzz from even some medium cigars!

holding the smoke in my mouth is a large factor for me.

Re: Nic Buzz?

I got a good buzz smoking a churchill sized cigar for about two hours. Wheew. And I don't inhale.

Re: Nic Buzz?

I smoke too fast most of the time, so most any full bodied cigar gives me a good buzz, and I don't inhale either.

Re: Nic Buzz?

i think this mostly occurs when smoking indoors for most people. Obviously, if you're smoking indoors you'll inhale a lot more smoke.

I dip Copenhagen regularly. But if I got to my B&M and smoke for 30 minutes I sometimes feel a little bit "out of the ordinary."

I've never experienced this feeling smoking outside, but of course I dip a lot.

Re: Nic Buzz?

I had to lie down after smoking for a long time once feeling the same. Apparently eating sugar is supposed to cure some of the side effects.

Re: Nic Buzz?

After 35 years of smoking cigarettes, there's
not a cigar out there that can make me dizzy!

However, I've definitely caught my lips & tongue a'buzzin'
finishing off a Hansotia (now Gurkha)Triple Ligero or a La
Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Chisel. I dubbed it "nicotingle".

Re: Nic Buzz?

this is too easy...

Here's the lineup for the "oh sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit" experience -

El Rico Habano....then a Joya De Nicaragua Antano...then a La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero.

Lean back in your chair and close your eyes.

Yep, happens to me if I'm working in the yard or something similar where I can't use my hands. I don't typically feel it right away though. It usually hits me a couple of hours later in the form of queasiness or a headache.

Re: Nic Buzz?

I experience this occasionally and I don't inhale. You have to remember that tyhe nicotine contained in 1 cigar = 1 pack of cigarettes.
