I am a fairly intelligent guy and I can say I was caught up in the RG deal for the first 5 or 6 months. It is a cause and effect kind of thing I think.

So many of us are drawn to stay here becasue of the "warm and fuzzies" from being part of the community. RG is what some people use to, crap I don't know, feel good about being here and embraced as part of the group. Acceptance I guess is what it represents.

I would now gladly take my RG to -100 and wouldn't care. I have made some friends just because of Club Stogie. Not people I "know", but REAL friends, and you know who you are.

Now, given I travel for work, I am making friends in Chicago(Tai), Vegas(Sam and Andrew) and will get dialed-in in DFW soon.

To the fellow mid-range noobs here, let it go and enjoy this place. It has added people to my life that I would not have met otherwise.

No matter how many times we say RG doesn't mean anything, a newbie comes in and sees he has 10 and others have 10's of thousands. Some are going to want more, cuz it does have the appearance of a reputation indicator. When some asshat comes in and does some stupid sh!t, he gets blasted to to minus one gazillion, and that says something to other newbies.
So, to me and many others it means squat, (no offense to those who have bumped mine, it is appreciated, just referring to the grand scheme of things) but lets not forget what it might mean to others, especially the noobs. As a reminder, it is still bad form to announce when you are ringing and dinging in public, PM's are better (this thread excluded cuz it makes a good point).

You can see who bumped/dinged your RG by clicking User Options from the top of any CS window.
