If thats still too much I'd recommend if you haven't tried yet is Oliva Serie G Maduros. Those are around $75-$85 depending on size and are a fantastic smke for the price. Hope this helps.

What about Sancho Panza double maduro? I haven't had it...just wondering if it is even along the same lines as the PAM.

Again, I'm going to ask a dumb question but by all means help a brothe out...

I've been told by many B&M patrons that the Padron 1964 uses the same filler as the thousand series, just aged 2 years longer. True?

The Sancho Panza Dbl Maduros are good, but very different from Padrons. I'm not sure whether or not Padron uses the same filler for the x000 series or Annis, but they do have similar tastes. The differences are usually pretty subtle: smoothness, slight hints of one flavor or another that the x000 doesn't have, and quality. Damnit, now I'm craving that Anni I have stashed away in my humi.

Yeah Sanchos are good but very different from the padrons. I actually really like both the double maduro and extra fuerte, but very different and not as smooth as the padrons.

I have also heard the rumpr that with a year or 2 rest the x000 will smoke like the 64

Re: Cheap alternative to Padron 1964 Principe Maduro?

I regularly smoke the TNT Alt to padron Anny. Though obviously not up to par with a true PAM, for about 2 bucks a smoke they are close enough for me (and my pocketbook) for when I'm just rolling around, or out in the yard, etc.

That's quite a bit for the '64 Torps. Are you talking about thr 40th Anniversary perhaps?
