Royal Jamaica Gold...Anyone else think this one's a sleeper

And by sleeper I don't mean boring, I mean not known by many, but good. I lit one of these up on the front patio this morning with a nice cup of French Roast. The stick was a Royal Jamaica Corona. It comes with a gold foil, that encases the bottom of the cigar up to the band. It looks like a candy bar.

I was surprised at the flavor of this stick. It was just a nice mild, maduro tobacco flavor. Very Tasty. Harshness never showed its ugly head. The price point on these is less than 3 bucks a stick on JR (Less than 70 bucks shipped for a box of 25). It took me about 40 minutes to nub the corona size. I had been curious on these for a while, so I picked one up at the B&M. Now I'm gonna have to keep a few in the Humi. This was a great morning stick to go with my cup of joe.

These have a Nicarauguan wrapper and binder. The filler is mixed, including Jamaican tobacco. I truly enjoyed this stick. You never hear about these. I would pick one up if you've never had one, just the perfect morning smoke to go with your coffee.

Anyone else have any experience with the Royal Jamaica Gold?

I felt the same way. The price was low so I figured how good could they be. I liked it, and for the price, fugedaboutit. Worth a try

Glad I could help with a nudge down the slope fellas. I have never heard of anyone speak of these on here before. But I could have just not seen it.

I have a robusto box of theirs that I've used for all my accessories (Lighter, Cutter, 5-finger bags, etc) since I started down the slope, so I felt pretty obligated to try one. I was surprised. I really liked it. It had a sweet tobacco flavor, with and underlying... Malty flavor. That's the only way I can think to describe it right now, but I definitely enjoyed it. Especially for the $3 I payed for it.

I had a hard time describinbg the flavor also. But I would say you're right on with the flavor.

I havent had one in quite a while, I used to smoke quite a few in the parklane size, the parklane scored pretty well in CA's top twenty five, I believe in 2005.

The last one I smoked was smaller than the parklane, I remember not caring for it as much. I have one more in the humi thats been resting for quite awhile, I may put a match to it soon.

But seriously, since being on here at CS, the other Gorillas have opened my eyes to all kinds of other brands I had never even heard of. What a great place.

Your right Bam the Royal jamaica is a very good cheap cigar. they sell pretty quick at our local B&M. I try to pick up a few on the devil site whenever I can. thanks for the review. Reminds me I need to start searching again.

This is actually the cigar that started it all for me. I was headed to Vegas for my bachelor party and i knew the temptation of a cigarette would be out there (i was coffin nail free for only 5 months), so i decided to buy some cigars. The guy at the B&M suggested a Royal Jamiaca Gold and some other stick i can't remember for the life of me. I lit the RJG at a casino and i was hooked. Down the slope i go... It's been a while since i've had one. Maybe i'll buy one today

I think it is a great cigar. My local b&m had a RJG tasting a couple of weekends ago. I thought it was really good, but I didn't know if that was just my noob showing.

Every time they have a deal on these, I pick up a few. I got a five pack to try once (corona's), and I enjoyed it. Nice pleasant smoke.
