Ashton / A Fuente Ideas

Hi all. I'm looking for some advice. I recently have tried the Ashton Heritage Puro Sol Belicoso No. 2 on two occasions. It was such an awesome smoke I'd like to buy more.

At this point I haven't tried that many different sticks so I'm wondering if there are other things I should try first. Specially are there "must tries" in the Ashton or A Fuente lines? I know Opus is a must, but that's not in the budget for now. Gotta work my way up.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try the Hemingway series. Short Story is my fav. Also, Don Carlos #4, King B, any of these are great smokes in my opinion.

I would not hesitate to buy more of the Puro Sol's. They are my favorite Cameroon.

So cool I make air conditioned wind, with subtle hints of aged Stranahans Colorado Whiskey and Murphy's Stout.

I second the Short Story. Great cigar for a good price.

Curly Head Deluxe and Flora Fina 858 (let them sit and rest for a couple of months and they take on a whole new life) They are my go to smokes for every day.

Rothschild is another good one that I enjoy.

Re: Ashton / A Fuente Ideas

No secret that I'm an Ashton fan. Since my first one back in the late 80's I've enjoyed them all. You really can't do wrong trying all of them in my opinion - even the 898 makes a great Sunday morning reading the paper with a cup of coffee smoke.

I'm particularly fond of the VSG's, ESG's and the San Cristobals.

In the Fuente - Short Story's are a great little smoke.

Lightbulb Re: Ashton / A Fuente Ideas

Fuente is my favorite NC cigar manufacturer. They make tons of great smokes. I see that you've already been pointed in the direction of the Hemingway, and the more difficult to come by Hemi maduro, but I would also recommend the Ashton Cabinet--especially in the belicoso size--for a creamy, toasty, nutty, medium-bodied cigar.

Re: Ashton / A Fuente Ideas

If your an Ashton fan try La Aroma de Cuba.

From cigar dot com:

Quote:
La Aroma de Cuba is one of the world's best selling boutique cigar brands, made for and distributed by Ashton.
Only a big name in cigars like Ashton can rejuvenate a brand like La Aroma de Cuba, a famous turn of the century Cuban brand made famous in part by Sir Winston Churchill who often described the cigar as one of his favorites. Using proprietary Cuban seed Honduran tobaccos, the La Aroma de Cuba is one of the most popular boutique brands ever made in Honduras.
Quite tasty smokes

Chas
