USPS Priority rate increase

It looks like 1lb and under priority shipments are now $4.75 instead of $4.60, at least online. Not sure about any other changes. I did a quick google search but came up empty.

If you purchase the postage and print the label online, it's $4.75. If you just print the label online and pay at the Post Office, it's $4.80.

I do have to get a bigger mailbox so I can leave bigger boxes in it though. I still have to drop off the big stuff at the PO.

I did some figuring last night for a box pass and it get real ugly for things over a pound. They are changing to a zone system like UPS so the farther you ship it the more expensive it gets for the same weight. I will look and see if I can find the link and post it to the fees.

They have been using the zone system for a while now on anything over 1 lb.

Yup... the P.O. no longer needs to ask congress for a rate increase. They now have the right to just raise the rates as long as it falls within inflation.
