Re: Drink pairing for my first PAM?

I'm FAR from an expert on beverages...but recently discovered PERONI as well as a couple of different PORTERS. For ME either one mates up well with a Pam, San Cristobal or a Tat.

Then again...so does an AZ Ice Tea too.

Congrat's on a Milestone in the long road of life!!

This gets my vote too, or a nice Cream soda. I've never liked booze and stogies that much. If I had to go beer, I'd go Corona or Coors. Something light that won't overpower the PAM. Either way, enjoy it, these are great sticks.

I usually go with a nice Scotch, but I would suggest you dring what you like. That will make for a more enjoyable experience and you will be able to detect more flavors, because you won't wonder if the flavors are from the different beverage, or the cigar.

So cool I make air conditioned wind, with subtle hints of aged Stranahans Colorado Whiskey and Murphy's Stout.

Enjoy the flavor of the cigar. Water if anything. These are expensive and tasty smokes. They don't need a drink to enhance the experience in my opinion.

After reading that I'd say water. You really want a chance to know this cigar, there is a reason its beloved. So I'd take it straight up with enough water to keep my mouth from drying, then sit back and enjoy.

And for the record I still a year into the hobby take my new cigars on with either water or coffee.

Re: Drink pairing for my first PAM?

a while ago, i was in chat and asked the same question,

Dave (68Trishield) said anything, as nothing can drown the taste of a PAM, i have had a couple since, with different drinks, and Dave was right, nothing can drown the taste of a good PAM.

Re: Drink pairing for my first PAM?

I like a good beer
I usually go with an IPA or a brown ale.
But drink what you like and it should work out for you

Another vote for water. Especially if it's your first.

Re: Drink pairing for my first PAM?

Water is always good with a cigar if your trying to discern different flavors within the smoke and don't want to alter the cigar's flavors imho. However, I've always liked an iced coffee (not to sweet), a sweet tea, dr. pepper is always good, or a good single malt scotch. At least with the beers I drink they always seem to impart strange flavors on cigars. I'm a heineken drinker mostly so that may be the issue though.
