Thanks to smokin5, who sent me a few #7 Reserves to try, I smoked my first one last week. It was quite nice. Not a "special occasion" stick, but very nice. I smoked another one a couple of days ago and it was even better. I passed the last one along to someone else looking to try one. I give them an A+ for the money. Its the only one I have tried so far so its the only one I can comment on.

Re: CFO Cigars

I've found the CFOs to be horribly inconsistant from smoke to smoke. I've had about 3 or 4 different sizes/blends, and I've found you really don't know what you're going to get until you torch it up.

For example, I had a #7 Toro today that was really good. Nice and spicy, not overwhelming but very smooth. In contrast, two days ago I had one from the same bundle that tasted so raw I tossed it about 1/3 of the way in.

Even with the inconsistencies, you're still getting a good smoke for less than a dollar a stick. I just wish there was a way to tell which ones are the nasty ones without lighting.

I've had some "stinkers" as well.....it's cool to EXECUTE them by tossing them in front of the mower. They really explode when those 3 John Deere blades do their dirty work!

Generally they are great YardGars, with only 2 or 3 out of 75 so far dissapointments. On the UP side....Occasionally You get a REALLY good one. A Surprisingly GOOD one.

CFO's are a bit like shooting craps....sometimes You win, other times you roll craps.

Re: CFO Cigars

I've had the #7 blend - Good 50 cent cigar, nothing special. The 6 year aged - Decent cigar with a little spice, nothing special here either, Grafitti - pretty good cigar, not a whole lot of complexity, but very solid. The AR
corojo Gigante - This is a really good cigar for a buck, well made and tasty. Corojo Superiore - again a well made solid cigar. Puruvian Ligero - these were VERY strong and Tasty - the ticket if you like strong & Full bodied. These are the ones I've had. Great cigars for someone on a budget or smokes a lot.

Thanks for the suggestions Garu. I've taken up Savvy on his offer, but haven't heard back. I'll try those and then place an order.

Re: CFO Cigars

In the other thread that is kinda about these cigars Bobarian said to me

Quote:
This is about all the information that can be found on the factory. http://www.smokeshopmag.com/0807/manuf.htm Ecuadoran factory. Reserve #7's are a nice blend, somewhat inconsistent, but for the price, who cares if you have to toss an occasional stick. Currently there is only one size available the 7x52 Belicoso. Both the Graffiti and LigaII are fuller smokes. Quite tasty. Give Barb a call as ask her what she recommends.
As far as I know Bobarian has known about these for a while. What I am interested is any kind of short as possible but to the point reviews on the blends they have tried. Something like I tried "***" and it was long filler, nice draw, good ash, good construction, would buy again, and tastes like/reminds me of a "***" and what your fave smokes are so I can get an idea of what you like in flavor. anything you can leave out anything or add anything, I am a horrible reviewer so I don't do it unless asked so anything you give me will be appreciated.

I am thinking about trying the "Graffiti" lines, "Improved Not A Short Story", "EP Sungrown Maduro Perfecto", and the "Perfection", and "6 year Premier" looks interesting. Personally I am not really looking for any of the super cheap or short fill unless they are vouched for as Very Good. Seams to be the #7 might be one of those. Due to my lack of storage I don't want to buy inconsistent cigars as I don't have room to keep duds.

<Off Topic below read if you wish>
My next purchase will have to be a new Humi which will be a winodor I think I will model it after what shilala did I really like the way it turned out but I will modify its design, Hop[efully i can even do it. As it will be my only winador I think maybe only 2 drawers and then maybe 2 or 3 slide out shelves for boxes. I am not sure yet as I tend to like to take my smokes out of the boxes unless I am aging and trying to keep myself from them so it will probably be two thirds Drawers and a third just room for boxes. When I get to it I'll need to know what kind of wood to use as I dont want to use some smelly wood and ruin it. (I know, I know but the cheaper option of coolidors wont work in my climate and the temp here is always too high) Sorry for the off topic comment.

Re: CFO Cigars

Here are a few reviews. http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/search....archid=3600860

I have been smoking the CFO's since the original release Gold Foot #7's came out last fall. I personally tend not to compare cigars. Each different blend has its own unique flavor characteristics and that is what I find interesting.

You should read the posts about the high-end cigars that have been big let-downs.

There are no guarantees out there with a hand-made product--many of us have experienced duds sitting in boxes next to fantastic smokes.

So my suggestion is--get more storage!

Re: CFO Cigars

Paul(pmagus) from CFO has confirmed in another thread that both the Graffiti and Graffiti LigaII are both long filler.
