Re: Tatuaje Draw Question
I have to agree with some previous posts. I was in Seattle this last weekend and went to a small B&M there and picked up a Tatuaje Havana VI, torpedo size. I was excited because this was my first Tat. Man oh man, that cigar had the tightest draw I have ever experienced. If there was ever a need for a draw correction tool, this was the time. The cigar tasted great, but the draw was horrible. Also, the wrapper came apart halfway through. Damn you Pepin and your picky wrappers (Miami 8&11 comes to mind).

Re: Tatuaje Draw Question
I'm suprised so many tight draws out there with the tat's. El Rey de Los Habanos is about 5 minutes from my restaurant and i've been lucky enough to get some right off the table. Was also lucky enough to score a jar of the black labels. Has anyone had one yet?

Actually, I think I have been lucky, I don't think I have ever had a plugged Tatuaje. The only one I have had that was a little tight (no where near plugged) was one of the noellas reservas. But that was expected, since the wrappers shrunk a little too much after rolling. I have heard other people complain about rolling issues, I just have never experienced them myself. Of course, most of my Tatuajes are at least a year old, so maybe it is a recent problem? ![]()

Re: Tatuaje Draw Question
Just had a Red Label Verocu-West Coast and draw was perfect for most people.
On the other hand, the guy across from me, and another last week, had LGC Serie R #7 and both were plugged.

They told me they don't get them there, only the regular label. No red, no black. I was looking for John (Pepin's VP - both of whom I got to know and hang out wiht a couple of times) but both he and Pepin are in Nicaragua. Maybe next time I drive down to Miami. On the draw question, never had a problem with the Churchill sized one. The smaller, little guys, yeah. Tight draws but tasty. |

Re: Tatuaje Draw Question
I picked up the Tatuaje sampler from tinderbox awhile back and the only one that I had a tight draw on was the Havana as well. But all the rest gave me nice easy draws. But as with every cigar, everyone is different. Thats what makes then so interesting.
