Maybe, maybe not. Yes if you buy 3 fivers. Not if you buy a box of something and only have to fork over $2.50 for shipping. All relative. I can't see that it's any worse than places that routinely charge $7.95 or $8.95 flat rate shipping.

JRs has really gone downhill lately imho. They have had a few good weekly specials in the past year (the Camacho Negro was the best) but they used to have better deals and more of them before Altadis ate them.

They had some really good specials in their holiday catalog, especially on Excaliburs, but the last catalog didn't have anything that appealed to me. However, I've seen some decent deals on JR Auctions. I got a box of Flor de A.Allones Bellicoses for $69 + $2.50 shipping. (They usually sell at the JR price of $95)

They're restarting the JRBB, and have hired back Steve Saka to piss off all the posters and institute mass bannings.

In all seriousness, I'm guessing Lew bought out some well known brand, is going to blow out the existing inventory at $39/box, and in a year or two will reintroduce the brand with the typical Altadis blend.

I'll say it's 5 Vegas.

ASC. Bad memories coming back... Saka used to ride the BB for sales and most people didn't know what hit them. Didn't I see him as a reviewer for Smoke Magazine? You may be right about Drew Estate, I think I read an announcement a few months ago.
