He was also mad that his humi wouldnt absorb any more moisture when his rH read 68% last week, he wanted it at 75%. He has been told numerous times, in many threads to buy beads, buy a digital hygro, etc. I do feel bad for his humi and I am sorry this happened but life is a learning experience.

No one has admitted to touching it but i know someone have as it had slightly moved when i got back.

Does anyone els on here ever feel like saying to a member of there family "dont f**k around with other peoples stuff"

I feel for you BOTL....but....
Finding out who did it will do you no good, it may even make you more angry. It's obvious that someone messed with your humi...move on...this is a lesson learned.

What did you learn and how should you adapt?

1) Don't put open containers OF ANYTHING in a humidor, unless it stays put...like an end table unit, cooler-dor, or larger. Desk tops should have a self contained unit soaked with PG, or a Boveda, etc.

2) Hide your humi where no one can get into it or on a shelf where no one can knock it over. If your humi is important to you, put it out of harms way....don't blame others, this is on YOU!

3) Elevate your sticks in the humi with a cedar tray , which is good for circulation anyway. Back when I had a bunch of desktops I found this expandable (sliding) thing that went on the bottom and was around a 1/4" thick, my cigars were better for it and it is insurance against any other liquid mishaps in the future.

This has happened to a lot of us so feel alone. I still have 2 Fuente Short Stories that fell victim to this from many years ago, they're stained with water marks and look like crap....I keep them as a reminder of my FU.

Release the anger and learn from the experience!

Watching this series of threads has been like trying to reason with my 19 year old son after his first year at college:

"Dad, I was thinking about doing {A}..."
"Well, it might be better if you do {B} instead, and here's why..."
Gives me a blank look.
Does {A}.
Screws it up.
Gets pissed.
Rants and raves and kicks the dog.
Expects sympathy.
Gets none.
"Dad, I was thinking about doing {A1}..."
Repeat cycle.

Re: So F-ing Angry.humidor Ruined

Not sure what to say, and don't have any history on this person (didn't click any links).

When I got my new humi recently (and others I have purchased), I used Boveda seasoning packs. Toss 'em in and wait 10 days. Worked for me. For maintaining humidity, I have sworn by Boveda packs. There are different humidities available. I've used 69% for all of mine. My humidors hold the humidity well, and I don't have to fuss with rewetting anything or refilling a humidifier.

As for the cigars, they are replacable. Unless it was something that a deceased relative gave you, I wouldn't worry about it. JMO

When they finally get around to doing {B}, they look at you and say why didn't you tell before and make me do it.
Been there done that.

[SIZE=3]The main thing is that you will live and (hopefully) learn from this particular experience now (go with beads period...).

Now, regarding any frustration that still may be pending: I find a short walk to the driving range with my 'driver' really helps to smooth things out mentally. Nothing like driving a bucket of balls down range you know?
