Pushing my neighbor down the slope.

I got a phone call from my neighbor yesterday, he was at the B&M and was about to make his first Opus X purchase, he was so excited.

It really made me feel good, I had to chuckel a little inside, I can remember when I first starting smoking and the excitment of finding that first "special cigar'. A couple months ago I gave this neighbor one of my desk top humis loaded with a few cigars and weve been hanging out and smoking since.

Hard to explain how I felt but hearing the excitment in his voice gave me that warm fuzzy feeling inside, worth much more than a desk top and a few cigars.

There's not much better than knowing I may have played a little part in his excitment.

Not trying to beat my chest here, just wanting to say. Sometimes it's much better to give than recieve.

Re: Pushing my neighbor down the slope.

Actually my neighbor smoked before we lived there, but it was occasional. Now we're both up to at least a couple a day and we use each other as a crutch lol. He hates for me to give him stuff, but I can sell him stuff pretty easy because he doesnt know a lot about cigars. I sold him a box of 1964s for $75 and he was FURIOUS when he found out what they actually cost lol.

Hes not the only one you pushed down Dgar. You push me hard with this sweet sampler almost 2 years ago. You're nothing but a big bully!

PS: I still have the Anejo

Re: Pushing my neighbor down the slope.

Cozz that picture put a smile on my face, I remember that contest. And if my memory serves me correctly, the Brazilia GOL was one of your favorite back then... But my guess is you've probably had a few different favorites since then.

Glad to hear they all gone but the Anejo, I hope you enjoyed them.

Yeah the Brazilia is still a nice smoke. My favorites seem to be changing on a monthly basis at this point.

They were all excellent sticks. I still remember the 1932 quite distinctively really nice smoke. The maduro hemingway was also right up there.

It's somethin you should be proud of! Nothin wrong with a gorilla beatin his chest after helping a new smoker out so much!

That's great though. I try to do the same thing to my friends. They just don't smoke as often as I do, but when they come over and we smoke and talk, it's so cool. It's so much better than just watching TV together or something else mindless. Awesome!

Re: Pushing my neighbor down the slope.

My best friend who got me started has now been pushed down the slope by me. He pretty much would buy a Joe's deal and then smoke them for the next couple of weeks. When I go over there now, I always bring something nice that I'm smoking and finally got him hooked on some better cigars. Out tastes are somewhat different, but he told me the other night that he is no longer buying just anything and will now only smoke certain cigars and named a couple of brands. I think it's time to take it up another notch!
