I love mild cigars, good for in the morning or late at night, something to have with your coffee to just harmonize with it.

Re: Does anyone like mild cigars.

Mild is in the eye of the cigar holder, but I found a La Aurora Sapphire to be mild but VERY tasty. When I think mild, I think lower flavor but very smooth. I have also found that mild cigars are smooth and tend to be consistent from start to finish. YMMV.

As well as the ERDM's, imo. On the nc side: Cabaiguan, RP Conn and Casa Torano's are loaded with flavor.

Actually Peter he was defining what he meant by mild... I consider Avo 787's mild... but, I love them they are certainly not bland. So, what he is talking about is different from our version of mild.

Makes perfect sense now.
My apology for the misinterpretation.

Tell us some examples of what you smoke now. That might help.

One of my all time favorite smokes is the AVO XO Intermezzo. Mild to ME and is flavorful to ME. Your experience might be different however. That's just another reason our hobby is so great.
.

All the best,

Re: Does anyone like mild cigars.

For me, a mild cigar is one that has a ton of flavor, but not that powerful nicotine "knot" that I get in the back of my throat. A lot of times, I find that the mild cigars have a lot less flavor because that power is really covering up the goodness. Just because somethin's mild, don't mean it ain't good! I really prefer mild cigars because I can really sit and enjoy a full stick, and that I'm able to really pick out the complexities compared to a more powerful stick that knocks me on my a$$!

Re: Does anyone like mild cigars.

Ya know, come to think of it I would probably consider a Partagas Lusi a mild cigar, because no way if it was a strong cigar could I smoke it for three hours...

Re: Does anyone like mild cigars.

I would agree than AVO would be considered mild by most but I find them to have some of the best and most consistent flavor.

I will try again but I am sure you will continue to ignore it.
Try the New Gorilla Forum and make an introduction and read the stickies

Re: Does anyone like mild cigars.

I like mild cigars... depending on the occasion and what I am drinking with it.

If you are looking for a nic buzz butt-kicker, I recommend:

La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Chisel.

That cigar... I promise you... will be far from bland.

If you check different vendors, you'll find different strength values for the same stogies. I've found I like some that are listed in every category, likewise I've not liked some in every strength category. Even some listed as "mild" I've found to be harsh, some of the full flavored guys have been very smooth and tasty. Your best bet is to try various stogies and find some that you like and go with what YOU like, not what someone else says is the bees knees!

I am delighted to see this sentiment on LGCs from such a well-respected elder of the pack. They were my first box purchase - corona gordas -- and I still love to pull them out for a very enjoyable smoke. Those now have 3 years on them and are amazingly smoooooooth.

Thank you for your kind words.

Could you be referring to the non-Cuban LGCs? I don't believe the Cuban marca made a Corona Gorda.

LGC is a brand my humidor is never without. If you can get your hands on a LGC Serie R Limitada, well...probably the finest cigar I have ever smoked, and that includes Cubans.
