Padilla Hybrid: Any difference between box blend and bundles?

CBid has an auction going for bundles of Padilla Hybrid robustos. Bid is at $37.99 right now. I've been wanting to try these after reading some very good reviews.

They usually come in a box, so I'm wondering if "factory mazos of 20" are indeed the real deal, or are they seconds or some other blend?

(I know HdM sells "HdM bundles" but I have read on this forum they are not same blend as the boxed HdMs )

It will be the same cigar. CI is just saving money by not sending the box.

I suspect you'll like the Hybrid. It's a great, reasonably priced smoke. I've purchased both boxes and bundles from cbid, and can't tell the difference.

Looks like a lot of love for the Hybrid but it's the only Pepin I disliked. Had a weird, ammonia like taste for me.

That's odd. I've never noticed that at all. I did have a 5 vegas gold the other day that I swear tasted like dish soap, though

Exact same smoke and when I get my bundle into the nearly empty robusto box no one will be the wiser. I had me a belicoso tonight and they are a good go-to smoke.

I like my Padillas, Pepin or not.

I still have an unopened box of the Robustos in the freezerdor, but I couldn't resist this deal, as I got in early at $34.95 for 20.
Very nice smoke, especially at this price.

In the meantime, I'll keep working on the assorted loose Hybrids I have.

I got my C-bid in for these things. At $34.99 for 20 itsa steal. The Hybrids grew on me.....wasn't all that impressed at first but the more I smoked 'em the more I enjoyed 'em and recognized what a great value they are.
