Re: Is the 1926 #35 the best cigar under $10 in the world?
To be perfectly honest... no, it is not. I've had a few and thought they were good at best, not great. I can list some stogies that I'd much rather smoke for under $10 (namely ALL the 64 maduros that are under $10, the Opus X PL, and some Ashtons). As much as I love Padron and their cigars, the 1926's really don't do it for me.

Re: Is the 1926 #35 the best cigar under $10 in the world?
Absolutely. IMO, it's also one of the world's most expensive cigars under $10 considering the fun only last for 20 to 30 minutes. That breaks down to 50 cents a minute when I'm smoking one.

You must be really sucking these things down! The thing I like about the 1926 (maybe all padrons?) is that the flavor and burn stays consistent regardless of smoking style. I can take a puff every 30 seconds or walk away for 2 minutes and the cigar remains perfect. My 35s typically last 40-60 minutes, though I could see it being a shorter smoke for many.

Directly answering your question.. I think the 35's are wonderful cigars representing their genre. Best under $ 10? There might be a couple (dozen) I'd put in front of it but that is just one mans opinion. I have issues with the harshness on my nose with these vs "other cigars" so can't get all the flavors plus I think they lack a certain 3d flavor profile that exists in cigars I like better. |

I tend to puff quite often.
Off the top of my head, the only cigar I have to smoke at a slow to normal pace would be the MC #4. Even after drying them out for a day or two, those babies get a little hot.

Don't overlook the Padron 1926 #2 mad. This is one of my favorite Padrons.

The 35 maduro is one of my favorite cigars today. Terrific flavors and short enough for when you don't have an hour or more to sit back.

The 26 is good but the 64 is better in my opinion.
Do Padrons get better with age.

Re: Is the 1926 #35 the best cigar under $10 in the world?
That's a question, right?
I would say that a bit of rest might help them a bit. But anything more than a year won't do much, imo Padrons smoke best within that first year. I think Addiction said it earlier, in reference to the 80th, that the flavors smoothed out and he didn't like them as much as when he first tried them. Holding on to smokes is never a bad idea. But if you really enjoy them fresh, you might find they lose a certain something you loved if you let them sit for a while. I would say set a couple away and find out for yourself. |
