Taste wise, no doubt some Cubans are stellar and a matter of one's personal preference.
BUT, when it comes to consistency in terms of overall beauty and overall burn/draw, none better than Padron Annis.
I beg to find a box of Cubans without at least one (in many cases half a box) full of draw problems and burn issues.
I freely admit I'm a cuban noob, but I've smoked 2 boxes of RS12s without a plugged one in any of the boxes. I do agree with your statement but so far most of my cubans have been fine. But I only own 6-7 boxes that are less than 5 years old, I think its more common in fresh cubans.

I think I've only had one NC that was plugged, and it was plugged to be unsmokeable. To set a fair measure even the cheapest bundle NCs seem to beat the average plugged rate of CCs.

To be honest I have not had many that where plugged myself, that didn't stop me from chucking them early. To be fair I have to admit it has been over 2 years since I have smoked a NC.

To be perfectly honest... no, it is not. I've had a few and thought they were good at best, not great. I can list some stogies that I'd much rather smoke for under $10 (namely ALL the 64 maduros that are under $10, the Opus X PL, and some Ashtons). As much as I love Padron and their cigars, the 1926's really don't do it for me.

Absolutely. IMO, it's also one of the world's most expensive cigars under $10 considering the fun only last for 20 to 30 minutes. That breaks down to 50 cents a minute when I'm smoking one.

You must be really sucking these things down! The thing I like about the 1926 (maybe all padrons?) is that the flavor and burn stays consistent regardless of smoking style. I can take a puff every 30 seconds or walk away for 2 minutes and the cigar remains perfect. My 35s typically last 40-60 minutes, though I could see it being a shorter smoke for many.

MSRP is a fair price, but when you score a bunch with a 25% off taboo coupon I almost feel dirty. I've tried to get on the CC bandwagon but the 1926 is tempting me to keep off that slope.

Can anyone explain the tiny white dots on the ash? Does it have something to do with the excessive, delicious oils on the maduro wrapper?

Alright, enough gushing. All I'll say is if you have the means, definitely acquire some #35s.
It's great to find a cigar that "does it for you". If you keep at this long enough, they usually are like the flavor of the month at Baskin Robbins, they get replaced at some point in time with a new favorite.

Directly answering your question.. I think the 35's are wonderful cigars representing their genre. Best under $ 10? There might be a couple (dozen) I'd put in front of it but that is just one mans opinion. I have issues with the harshness on my nose with these vs "other cigars" so can't get all the flavors plus I think they lack a certain 3d flavor profile that exists in cigars I like better.

I tend to puff quite often. Off the top of my head, the only cigar I have to smoke at a slow to normal pace would be the MC #4. Even after drying them out for a day or two, those babies get a little hot.

Don't overlook the Padron 1926 #2 mad. This is one of my favorite Padrons.

The 35 maduro is one of my favorite cigars today. Terrific flavors and short enough for when you don't have an hour or more to sit back.

The 26 is good but the 64 is better in my opinion.

Do Padrons get better with age.

That's a question, right?

I would say that a bit of rest might help them a bit. But anything more than a year won't do much, imo Padrons smoke best within that first year. I think Addiction said it earlier, in reference to the 80th, that the flavors smoothed out and he didn't like them as much as when he first tried them.

Holding on to smokes is never a bad idea. But if you really enjoy them fresh, you might find they lose a certain something you loved if you let them sit for a while. I would say set a couple away and find out for yourself.
