Any suggestions on a 300-ct humidor?

I'm looking to upgrade. Right now, I have three desktop humidors, with max capacity of about 95 cigars. It is very difficult for me to age cigars for more than 4 months before I have to smoke them to make room for new cigars. (to avoid ever having to smoke them off the truck)

I figure if I can store 300 cigars, @ 3X/week, that would give me plenty of storage to age boxes of cigars for 1 year.

Anybody have a good suggestion for a humidor in this size range?

I was just about to post a thread about this!!!!! I've been looking at the Ravello (a great looking humi) and I'm looking to ditch my 150 count.

My suggestion would be to get a vinotemp. $139 at Target right now, down from the regular $199.

Might as well step right up to this then you are all good.

That interim step just never seems to work out.

Personally I went from 50ct desktop to a 60qt cooler and beads. It's essentially idiot proof. Vinotemps cost 3x as much and there are extra costs for shelving and fans, and you need an outlet, and you have to worry about condensation... IMO I'm lazy and I don't think they're worth the hassle for newbies. Coolerdors all the way!

Re: Any suggestions on a 300-ct humidor?

I have a 300 count and I regret ever buying it. Personally, I would rather just have a smaller (100-150 cigar maybe) humidor and a cooler.

im with him. If you live in a milder climate like i do a vino is not needed. with a cooler you get more storage and less price. the only thing the vino has on it is a glass window, but it isnt as much hassle, so i think a cooler is the way to go. just my

I vote for the cooler as well as it is what I used for aging. You can get set up pretty cheap and the humidity control is very forgiving.

Re: Any suggestions on a 300-ct humidor?

Vinotemp is the way to go. The extra costs stated above are not requirements. I have cedar shelves in one vino and wire in another. Oust fans are also not necessary, any more than in a cooler. All you need in a Vino is beads. Same amount as in a cooler.

If someone else pays your elec-AC bills in the summer, then a cooler is fine. But a month of double elec bills during a heat wave will pay for the Vino. I am guessing that 90pct of the Vino users on CS had previously used coolers. There is a reason we have moved to Vinotemps.

Re: Any suggestions on a 300-ct humidor?

I'm going to recommend getting a cooler as well. I'm running a 120qt Walmart special.

If you have your heart set on a traditional humidor I would check out cigarbid.

Re: Any suggestions on a 300-ct humidor?

1) only look at the actual measurements when picking a humidor, most humidors are way over rated for capacity and differ from site to site.

2) the ravello (2210sq inches) looks nice, but you lose a lot of space in the bottom because of the drawer.

3) the havana foot locker (3150 sq inches) http://www.cigarsinternational.com/p...-HAV300&cat=10
with the free shipping promo (http://cigarsintl.com/freepm4) is 150 out the door, is way bigger than the ravello and you lose no space in the bottom
