Post Turkey Stogie... Holiday Picks!

Well i always thought of thanksgiving as more of a Hallmark holiday, but hey in the end, i am with a bunch of family and good tim- well wait no, its mostly arguing, what are you doing with your life and pass the cranberries but NONTHELESS!! its a day for a top shelf smoke and i was wondering if any of you we're saving a smoke for turkey day, or have a good idea of what might deserve the light after such a hearty meal...

Im going with H. Upman ISOM, its been aging for about 8 months in my humi and its been since June since i treated myself to a ISOM

Happy Holidays to my fellow Gorillas!

Re: Post Turkey Stogie... Holiday Picks!

Actually I am thinking PRE-turkey cigar with my sons while it is cooking in the deep fryer out in the backyard.

Still remains to be seen if the new in-laws can handle the fact that I smoke cigars, that I will have my boys fire up with me too and whether or not I can put up with one of the in-laws

Holidays and in-laws... what happened to the good old days?

Re: Post Turkey Stogie... Holiday Picks!

I love that my wife and I do 2 to 3 turkey dinners over the weekend. I will probably travel with alot of variety of aged sticks I have plus some for my family. I am lucky to have in-laws that are great, it's always a party to be around them, unless politics come up, which is my cue to go smoke a stogie.

Re: Post Turkey Stogie... Holiday Picks!

Hmmm, don't really think this is a Hallmark holiday. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, better than Christmas. It is like the forgotten holiday, Xmas stuff is going at almost full speed. Love the football, great weekend, games Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Since we may have some weather over here, I'll be going for some smaller smokes - 03' Boli PC; '05 RASCC; '01 Party Charlotte.

I plan on doing the same thing. We've got 8 turkeys to fry between 4 of us, so I"m taking 4 party shorts, 4 boli pc's and 4 NC's for the guys that don't smoke much.
We cook bacon, eggs and texas toast over an open fire then spark up some stogies while frying the birds.

Re: Post Turkey Stogie... Holiday Picks!

I seriously doubt I will get to smoke a cigar tomorrow. I am the only one in the family that smokes on a regular basis (my dad smokes maybe 2 a year) and several of my family members are very sensitive to the smell of smoke, and would not like me smoking near them. Oh well, no big deal, I will smoke a few tonight, and then a bunch on Friday to make up for it.

Re: Post Turkey Stogie... Holiday Picks!

My Father-In-Law and I enjoyed La Flor Dominicana Limitado cigars last night.

Going to my folk's place today, but may enjoy either year old CAO Italias or La Perla Rojos Saturday night before heading back to Texas on Sunday.

Was Hallmark around in 1863? LOL

I'm thinking I'll light up a Fuente Anejo No.48 - which will be my first ever of this cigar.
