I've been told that they age well in salt water...warm salt water, the cold stuff just promotes mold

Re: Humidor bead's

Ok so are you lot saying (Trying to get back on topic if its worth it) that you can get oreo flavoured beads? is that how they flavour all cigars? so coffee flavoured comes from coffee beads not beans?!? cool you learn something new every day!

Thank's in advance.
I think that beads are great and the best option....but, are not perfect. I have a 400 count humidor housing about 350 sticks. I bought the recommended amount of 70% RH beads. After calibrating the hygro and checking the seal on the humi I could only get the RH to 63%. I bought more 70% RH beads (so I now have more than double the amount of beads recommended for that size humi. I got the RH to 65%.

I have given up trying to get my RH to 70%. At least the RH is constant and I know many on the boards prefer an RH of 65%, so I am happy.

I gotta agree with my BOTL here... All it takes is a littel effort and desire to look around some. All of his questions have MASSIVE threads already, and very recent. Not trying to be harsh, but gotta agree with chippewastud79.

Worthy effort, but I fear this is falling on deaf ears here.

They are great for the humidor or the coolidor at keeping the precise humidity. If the RH drops all you need to do is mist the beads and wallah you are back in business. I have been happy with them since I began using them. Thanks to CS for the information and recommendation.

Digital or analog hygro? The dry beads should soak up the excess moisture.

Its one of those digitals that everyone likes that you can calibrate. Im goin to do a salt test tomorrow. Ive taken out all the humidification things so right now its only the tube of beads

Are you using beads in addition with another device? If so, ditch it and use only the beads.
