Cigar Rating database: Stogie Rate update

Okay fellow simians, I am ready to unleash the latest version of my Stogie Rate database application. I decided to start a new thread for those that haven't been following the discussion and because the original URL for the app is gone so I can make sure everyone from this point will have the most recent version.

Stogie Rate is a self-running database application for Windows or Mac OSX users that will help you keep track of information about your cigars. The following elements are contained in the database: Brand, Name, Type, Size, Date of Purchase, Vendor, Cost, and Cost per Cigar. More importantly, you can use Stogie Rate to rate your cigars and store your tasting notes using the Stogie Fresh rating criteria found within the application and you can even share your ratings by posting on the Stogie Fresh Rating Blog.

Here's info on the most recent update...

First, I added one new text field: Vendor. So you can remember who you bought your cigars from and so you can compare the prices at different vendors.

Second, the version I created has about 27 pre-rated stogies in it. The app will not have photos of the bands and cigars, that would've made the file too large. But I am including a separate file that has scans of 47 bands to get you started. I am also including another file with photos of cigars (32). You just need to import the appropriate bands and cigar photos into the database.

Just a heads up to all...Don't try to import all the pics at once. You will lose the existing data. If you follow the help .pdf you will be fine.

P.S. Doc, works great on Windows 2000, XP and my 2003 Server. I'll let you know about the Linux machine in a few days.

I am having trouble with the download on a Mac. Does anyone know if I need "file maker pro" for this? Thanks.

Nope. You don't need Filemaker. It's a self-running application that was developed on a Mac. Check this page for the correct URL:
