I'm in Germantown, Philly for a week

I'm vistiing with relatives but I should have some spare time at some point. I'll be out in Long Island visiting my cigar smoking uncle, also. This is like coming to "The Old Country" to me. I was born and raised in CA. Anyone have some pointers?

Im from the jersey shore.. i have a good pointer.. on your trip from philly to LI if its on the weekend stay away from the jersey shore!.. traffic is so bad here due to city folk coming down that i cant even leave my house on weekends!

Terrible! We will be doing that trip during the week, non commute hours for sure.
So far I have found a B&M called BnB's that is near by and a lounge called Mahagany in central city.

i have been to mahogany's in philly and it is a pretty cool cigar lounge. great mojito's and great food. plus the cigar shop downstairs has almost every cigar under the sun!! very nice place.

BnB and the Pipe Rack should be right in your area in Germantown. BnB has a nice selection and should probably have whatever you might be looking for. The Pipe Rack doesn't have quite as wide a selection, but the shop has such a cool rustic, old time feeling to it that I highly suggest checking it out.

Philly Smoke Shop is a little further away but Chris, the owner, keeps an extremely well stocked walkin humi. There's also a little smoking area with a few couches where you can hang out and smoke. The shop is tucked in a mall and is a bit back off of the street, but its right next to the Turf Club, which is huge, so it shouldn't be too hard to find. Chris is also a member here, hermit11 i think, so make sure to let him know you're from CS if you make it by.

If you make it to Mahogany , don't move the chair your going to sit in unless it's a bar stool . The owner may snip at you about "coming to your house and moving the furniture around" . Holt's is right underneath and has a great selection and a smoking area also . Around the corner on Sansom St. is the Black Cat Cigar Co. , nice shop also but packed a little tight .

Here's something I just learned about Philly.
You can only buy beer from the store is whole cases (24).
So if you want to buy two different kinds = 48 beers, etc.
I was told this is to keep youths from buying it.

Unless you go to a bar that sells 6-packs.

The beer in one store and booze/wine in a different store is sort of pain as well.

That's really NOT true at all. There are stores that sell six packs all over the city, not just bars either.

I stopped into BnB a little while ago and bought a couple of sticks. They have some OpusX gypsies they are selling for $20. They have a store brand and some unbanded cigars they call by cuban names that I didn't get the story on. Anyone know?
