I hear from fellow botl that Jr's are not always good and I know the Punchs are always good IMO. The few different I have tried have always had a more of a spicy, peppery type of flavor more then anything IMO. And they few ones I have had were made well and burned well. Good stick I have not had the London club. I had a normal toro size and a rare crojo, and a few robusto's EMS amd maduro.

I like the Punch sometimes but if your planning on the JR alternatives to taste like the original, don't. They aren't bad smokes but the few that I've tried didn't taste anything like the originals.

The punch are pretty good, the JR alternatives are total crap.

Whatever you do, Don't but JR alternatives. They taste nothing like the originals...in fact, they taste like nothing but cardboard and wet newspaper. I made the mistakeof buying a bundle a year or so ago, I'd hate to see anyone else make that mistake.

Just looked at their site and if the Alternatives are smokable then they'd be a decent everyday cheapie. ($20.95 for 20 right now.)

PM Floydp. He used to smoke London Clubs and Elites back in the day. I'm sure he would be happy to help.

Re: Info on some stogies...

I would say go with the Elites, they tend to get quite good with age. Used to smoke them all the time a couple years back. Mark mentioned them a few weeks back and I dug around in the humidor and found some, as a matter of fact I had one last night and enjoyed it. The London Clubs aren't bad but I'd go with the Elite maduros. Good and cheap. Had a couple boxes of the London clubs and at least 3 or 4 of the Elites..

True, but "smokeable" is pushing it...

I agree totally. I've smoked several boxes of the London Clubs and am about to finish a box of Elites. Both the London Club and Elite age very well and burn very good. Taste is almost identical. I have switched over to the Elites for two reasons: 1) local availablility of singles and 2) they last a bit longer so I don't run out of cigar before I run out of drive on the way to work. The Elites cost about $10 a box more than the London Club, but even at around $40.00 a box, they are one of the better deals out there. I agree with Floyd. If the extra $10.00 is not an issue, I would go with the Elite if given a choice. However, I would never turn down a box of London Clubs.
