Decided on an Anejo 55 instead of an Opus at my B & M. What a mistake imho. I'll take a Hemingway over the Anejo any day of the week.

Re: Anejos -- What's with the gouging?
I'll take an Anejo over an Opus any day. When in stock, the local B&M that gets them here sells them for close to MSRP. Just wish they had them more often.

I love Anejos! I might smoke one from my 2005 stash today with my pops after lunch.

I won't deal with Havana House for this reason. I went once, not overly impressed with the service or the selection. The prices were a bit (in this case, ALOT) higher than normal.

Re: Anejos -- What's with the gouging?
There is a store local to DC that usually has Anejos in stock. It's due to their price though. I don't know if they'd still have them this late, but you are looking at $22 for the 46 and up for the rest.
I've never purchased anything from them for that reason.

Re: Anejos -- What's with the gouging?
I guess I am lucky, my B&M sells both the Opus and Anejo for $1 over MSRP when they have them. They do have a limit of 4 sticks per customer, and they usually sell out within 2 days.

Problem is Fuente holds back production to juice up demand

Re: Anejos -- What's with the gouging?
I just got the latest "FUENTE rare cigar goodies" list from Darlene the Cigargirl at Tampa Sweethearts.
Anejo's available right now are: 46, (5 5/8 x 46), $7.25 each--(Limit of 2) 49, (7 5/8 x 49), $9.50 each---(Limit of 2) There are lots of other odd Fuente things available as weel. As someone mentioned, you have to spend $25.00 on something from their regular products. I usually buy a bundle of Sweethearts. You also have to call in the order if you wish to buy from the list. Can't order the special stuff online. Darlene's nice, you'll be glad you called her. She's a sweetheart. ![]()

Re: Anejos -- What's with the gouging?
I'm not sure if it's true or not, but makes pretty good business sense to me.
If you can immediately sell 500 of something for $10 a piece, you make $5,000. If you can sell the first 100 of that thing for $10 a piece, wait for hype to kick in, sell then next 150 for $20 a piece, wait for hype, sell the next 150 for $30 a piece, wait for hype and sell the last 100 for $40 a piece, you've made $12,500. |

Cigarsdirect has sharks, $29 a piece.
http://www.cigarsdirect.com/ProductC...idCategory=234 [quote=Blueface;1736268]Just found this link. They must be smoking more than just cigars over there. Crack must be the order of the day. I guess it doesn't matter as it is out of stock anyway.
