Ah, the smell of seegar in the morning.............
I love to smoke in the early morning. Yesterday I had a 3 hour drive to Franconia, NH. I was out at 6:00 AM very cold, icey, snowy and dark. Very brisk. Warmed up the car, filled up the washer fluid and headed out. Put on a CD of old country music that my wife burned for me and fired up an SLR Double Corona. Man, thats heaven. My palate was clean and fresh and I could tste every nuance of that beautiful cigar. I slowly sipped that baby for over 2 hours and chomped on the stub the rest of the way. I am not sure of the date on this cigar, it might be early 02. The fullest bodied DC that I have had in a while. Each puff filled the car with lovely blue grey smoke. By the time I hit the mountains I was definitely buzzed. Spent an hour at a meeting and turned around and headed back. For the ride home I had a Partagas Churchill Deluxe from 97. Very different taste. More cedar and spice and a lot less earth. It is just so great to be alone tooling down the highway with a good smoke. A man could think great thoughts at moments like that. I did not, but ya could.

I had a ride like that through the mountains of West Virginia. Best I could do was an Opus X DC. Ahhh, life in the trenches...

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Dec-04-02 AT 06:38 PM (CDT)]You need a driver Steve?
I'm with you. I too enjoy a cigar early in the morning. One of my favorite things is a nice cigar on the way to fishing early in the morning. I love to drive with the windows down and the heater on. |

Riding in an old 63 VW with a SLR Double Corona would be heaven, matter of fact anything and a DC would be great!!!

RE: Ah, the smell of seegar in the morning.............
I have one of the SLR DC's waiting for me, but I wouldn't dare drive or operate heavy equipment for at least an hour after I smoke it. You sure made it sound good though. I guess I will not be resting this much longer. You just shortened the life of a beautiful cigar my friend.

RE: Ah, the smell of seegar in the morning.............
Steve,
A favorite cigar time for myself also, although I haven't had the experience in a car. My morning cigars are with a strong cup of coffee and, if possible, done while sitting in a hot tub looking at the Pacific Ocean. Thanks for the reminder. ... rjs |

Sounds great to me! I do not smoke a lot in the morning, though. Kicking back with a fine cigar relaxes me too much to do any work afterwrds!
![]() Rob, Alan and I had a nice road trip from Chicago to LOLH II...6 or 7 cigars I thyink! LOL You are welcome to join us next year!

Absolutely, my plan for next year is to hook up with you guys first and then proceed to LOLH III. I think we need some Monte A's for the ride.

RE: Ah, the smell of seegar in the morning.............
Steve,
I've got a Monte A with your name on it for the trip down. Knowing how fast you smoke cigars though, an 'A' might last you the trip and through the pre-herf too! LOL When we were driving down in Oct., Alan asked if I had gotten a "smoking" car. "It's a smokin' car now" laughed Jim! I look forward to the trip. ... rjs |

RE: Ah, the smell of seegar in the morning.............
I know what you mean. I smoke most of my cigars in the morning while driving. I usually light up around 7:30 or 8:00 AM after I've already driven about 50 miles. That's when I eat breakfast and hop back in behind the wheel and clip one. But if I don't get my morning smoke, the afternoon or evening smoke is very much appreciated.
