Mild but flavorful.
Hey guys, I'm still pretty new to cigars, and I have been doing a lot of experimenting. I've found that I definitely need to stick to mild cigars for now because fuller cigars make me sick. But these mild cigars seem to all lack much taste, regardless of brand. Is this just because my pallet isn't refined yet or is it just the cigars? Are there any mild cigars that have a lot of flavor? If so could you guys recommend me some? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Re: Mild but flavorful.
5 Vegas Gold and Red labels are both pretty mild with a good flavor. So is a Motecristo White

Re: Mild but flavorful.
5 Vegas Gold is one of the best mild cigars for new smokers and veterans alike...it has a really addictive flavor. I smoked the nugget size every day for breakfast for a long time until they made me late for work every day. I've bamboozled all my friends into the slope using this as bait!!!

Re: Mild but flavorful.
To move up to medium or fuller smokes, be sure you have eaten something beforehand.
Try a Punch Rare Corojo, its a great step up in flavor without the kick of many stronger smokes. Many maduro's also fit the bill for a more flavorful mild/medium smoke. Padron x000 maddies are a good starter.

Re: Mild but flavorful.
The Cabaiguan from Tatuaje is my favorite NC mild and very flavorful smoke! When they start off they have a more medium strength to them but mellows out after 1/4 inch or so.
Thats my suggestion

Re: Mild but flavorful.
I second the padrons, although they can pack a little kick if you're not prepared for them, but after a couple of Padron 2000s, you'll be able to handle them--great flavor!
I'd also suggest the Cusano 18s (paired maduro or connecticut wrapper). Carlos Torano exodus 1959 is another.

Re: Mild but flavorful.
I had the same problem when I first got into cigars...just wait, one day you'll notice you can smoke a stronger cigar without the sick stomach, you'll get the flavors, maybe a little buzz -- and it will open whole new doors for you.
Just keep trying different marcas to see what you like/dislike. |

Re: Mild but flavorful.
This is a good choice, the Lot 23 is another good one. The CAO Gold is a good stick as well, so are Ashton Classics, Oliva Serie G's and Montecristos. Also talk to folks at your local B&M, they'll be able to recommend you stuff based on what they're selling. Another thing, if you eat something before you smoke, it helps take the edge off a bit.

Re: Mild but flavorful.
My favorite mild smoke is still the Carlos Torano Casa Torano. Tastes like a more flavorful 5 Vegas Gold to me. Can't go wrong with the 5 Vegas either though.

Re: Mild but flavorful.
Don't let the name Camacho scare you.
The Camacho Selects and Camacho Havanas are very tasty medium smokes.

Re: Mild but flavorful.
Check this recent thread for some more mild recommendations. Quoting me: "the Fonseca 5-50, Cu-Avana, and Sancho Panza Double Maduro are all economical, smooth, mild, and "spice-less."
Good luck! |
