Re: cant see the reason for buying brand names

yeah i hear what everybody has been sayin, preety much smoke what you like, and if you like it thats ok...and of course that was my point in starting this thread.

Unfortunately, what happens when i buy a stick that is a big label, and accompanied with the big price tag, my EXPECTATION increases as well...for example, I see a huge difference in mark up between a Padron 1964, (which is very good, i'm not callin it a dog rocket or even a bad smoke), and a Value line honduran 500 toro habano...about a $20.00 difference, and so i am expecting my world to be rocked by the padron, (or what ever othere name you wish to insert here), and it clearly isn't rocked by much more than the Value line can do...and do it over and over again because i have 20 of them to my one padron...that is what i am sayin.

I truly respect your opinion.
Tastes vary.
Mine simply differs.
I smoke any cigar as if it is my last to ever smoke.
As such, I want it to be as amazing as my wallet allows me to enjoy.
Are there cheap cigars out there that are good?
Sure.
However, are there cheap ones that are comparable to a Padron 1964? Please, someone show me the way. I am there.

BTW, You can buy a Padron 1964 Principe Maduor for $10.
You can also buy many other 1964's for under $15.

The analogy in this thread if applied to cars, no one would ever buy a $100,000 Mercedes if they can get a Toyota Corolla, one of a different color, for each day of the week, with the same $100,000.

I can't afford to drive the best cars.

I can't afford to live in the best houses.

I can't afford to take the best vacations.

But I can afford to smoke some of the world's best cigars. There aren't too many hobbies like that.

You could well be right in stating that some of the less expensive smokes taste as good as the brand names (and they might - I'm a newbie).

But certainly you're not suggesting that a Toyota Corolla would drive like a Mercedes AMG?
