Nat Sherman Metropolitan

I have had 2 of these in as many days. I love the straight forward Mild Dominican Tobacco flavor in these. I like them so much that I just pulled the trigger on a box of the University size 6x50.

Anyone else like this Metropolitan line by Nat Sherman?

Absolutely LOVE Nat Shermans - particularly the Metropolitan. I've got 2 boxes put away. Flavor aside, I love the aroma - it's quite elegant! Great sticks; as long as you don't order them directly from Nat Sherman, you can always get them at great prices.

I think my favorite is the Explorer - a gorgeous torpedo. In fact, I think I'll light one up now!

I got the Universities. Do these improve with any age? or are they too mild for that?

You know, I'm not sure. I have got some Unions with 8 months on them and haven't really noticed much of a difference.

But since they're so good now, I'm confident that things will only get better!

i really, really want to try a nat sherman. i might go to a b&m tomorrow and pick one up. it's funny, my grandfather used to be a traveling salesman in the northeast and he would go to nat sherman's showroom in new york and smoke cigars with nat himself

Benjamin that is an awesome story about your Grandfather. The funny thing is the Nat Sherman I picked up was just on a whim at my B&M. I wasn't expecting much from it, just wanted a quick inexpensive smoke. The only reason I was interested in them was b/c of there recent Cigar Magazine article on their new shop in NY. But once lit I found it so smooth and creamy. Hence a day later why I have a box coming. These guys are sleepers in my opinion.

Re: Nat Sherman Metropolitan

I agree - definately a sleeper!

We all know the close associations with memory and scent/aroma. When I used to live in NY, carbonbased_al and I would make Nat Sherman one of the bi-weekly stops on our "cigar crawl" and that's where I would enjoy Nat Sherman cigars. To this day, whenever I light one up, the unique aroma of their cigars takes me right back to the 2nd floor, walk-in humidor seating area of the 5th Avenue store.

Phuggin A man. Those were the days. Old Nat Shermans just bleed atmosphere. Great place to just sit back and relax. Haven't been to the new site, just doesn't feel right.

EDIT: I remember the cigars being pretty good. Haven't had one in ages, but I remember liking the grey banded ones alot. The Gotham series I think?

I have a two year old box that I reach for occasionally when I want a smooth morning smoke. I haven't noticed that age makes that much of a difference with these.

(A CBID pickup, of course. :-) )

I'm in the same boat. Read the same Cigar mag article and started to wonder about them myself. I've either yet to see one at my local B&M's here in Cali or I just never noticed. Time for a 5'er me thinks.

I like Dominican, I like creamy, sounds good to me.

I was in my B&M Monday. I picked up a box of Toranos, and noticed the Nat Shermans -- had never seen them there before. Not knowing what they were, I just kept going. I checked out, asked for some matches, and the manager gave me a Nat Sherman lighter instead. Now, I have had this brand looking at me in my car ever since . . . are these signs? Should I act?

I used to smoke these back in the 90s and loved 'em. I haven't had one in 10 years though. Please post a link to the most inexpensive box!
