Graycliff- Machine Made???

I ran into someone today and was talking to them about the GC's I just got and he asked me if they were the ones rolled by hand or the ones machine made. I looked at the GC site but it only led on that they were ALL rolled by hand. The are considered "Premium" cigars and most of them are "Premium" priced too it seems.

Are some of these machine made, then wrapped by hand?? They are decent smokes and seem to draw some attention when I bring them up. Why would Avelino Lara (the creater of Cohiba) put his name on a smoke that is not entirely hand made????

I suppose if I think they taste ok it shouldn't matter to me, but it does. Maybe the visions of beautifull women rolling my cigars on their thighs is a something that REALLY doesn't happen!

When I go down to Nassau I always get these at Atlantis. The guy in the shop there rolls them in front of you so I know those are hand rolled! But there is a certain brand of Graycliff that is not made there and those may be the ones your speaking of, think it's the "gold label".

Re: Graycliff- Machine Made???

I can't believe they wouldn't all be handmade, especially at that price point. Even Cuban Partagas Mille Fleur and Super Partagas are handmade at this point.

I had a box of G2's and I believe those are hand made as well.

Maybe the new 1666's?

Thumbs up Re: Graycliff- Machine Made???

I got the crystal series and the new 1666's. They look and feel handmade. The cheapest ones made it looks like are the G2's. But price doesn't always indicate a well (man)made cigar. I have smoked plenty of decent smokes that were very cheap. Though you do pay for more consistent good smokes when price is associated with it.

THOSE WERE GREAT PICS TOO!!

Thanks for the quick posts! Guess I will just have to try them ALL huh!!!?
