Re: Cigar and Relationship Advice
Take out a cigar, offer her one, light up and enjoy. Dont act like its something you rarely do, or doing to get on her bad side. Tell her its something you enjoy and thought you might share this passion with her. If she gets upset, well you have a nice cigar to smoke on the ride home.

Re: Cigar and Relationship Advice
Good reasons to smoke cigars:
1) A good cigar tends to be cheaper than a bottle of wine, or sometimes a glass of wine(too many factors to list). 2) No one ever gets stupid silly from nicotine 3) Nicotine does not cause "beer goggles", or poor decision making 4) You can't immediately kill anyone. If your new companion would rather you risk going to bar, getting drunk, sleeping with "the duff"(ugly third wheel girl in the group), and kill someone on the drive home. I'd have to say you need to pick a new companion because they are stupid. |

Re: Cigar and Relationship Advice
Call her up one day and very excitedly tell her about the $250 box of cigars you just got on Cbid for $180 then see what happens.

In all seriousness, should the tit for tat thing be expected?

Re: Cigar and Relationship Advice
I have almost 3 decades behind me with the same woman (met at 19, started living together at 20, married at 25, and still going strong) so:
If you can't be honest and up front about this, then where does that leave the relationship? Hell after 28 years, my wife and I have had a lot more important things to discuss, agree with, and get over than smoking cigars. Imagine kids, career choices etc. I don't mean to be harsh, but the old adage about they have to love you for who you are is absolutely true!!! That doesn't mean you don't adapt and change at times to make a successful relationship, but if the foundation isn't rock solid it won't work in the long run. If she is more important to you than the cigars, throw the damn things away (I will send you my address). If she isn,t have a good time but keep looking for the right one (girl not cigar, err, well maybe both). Last edited by Jonesee; 07-21-2008 at 01:17 AM.. |

Re: Cigar and Relationship Advice
Only you know that, if not you soon will. My wife is not like that. We both work hard, if we want something we go get it. We have spent so many years sacrificing things so the children could have the things they needed, we are just now in a position to do things for our self's. My cigar hobby is shared by my wife only in that she knows it makes me happy. She has sampled a few, liked a few but for the most part just giggles when she sees me playing around in the vino or packing packages.
She had a huge giggle today when I packed Steve's. ![]() Chas |
