Contest/celebration

Now I just got the official word that my Warrant Officer Packet was approved. Which for me, my wallet and my wives purse collection is good news. It's not so good news for the jerky Seargant Major that gives me (and everyone else) crap but good news for me. To celebrate I will be having some of the forbidden fruit from that Island. (thanks Navydoc)
It's no fun to celebrate alone so I have to give something away. Seems only fair to share. My humis and coolerdor are full and contests are fun soooo.....

A little trivia....

What kind of bike do I have? (road)
What kind of Axe do I have? (electric and acoustic)
Why did they do away with Warrant Officers in the Air Force?
What is the TIG requirement for W-2?
What does AMEDD stand for?
Why does everyone always say that no one EVER f#$%s with a Warrant Officer?

Good luck and I'll be generous if your the winner.

1. 2001 Katana 600 was your last one. you now don't have one.
2. No idea a les paul and a martin and co.

3. They got the Wo from the army bout when they split away and became the Air force their place in the Air Force was never made clear. Congress authorized the creation of two new senior enlisted ranks in the late 1950s, Air Force officials privately concluded that these two new supergrades could
fill all Air Force needs then performed at the warrant officer level.

4. 2 years in grade W1

5. Amedd (Army Medical Department) Center and School

6. you are the backbone so to speak. if NCO your administrative personnel as advisors to the officer corp

I gave it a shot. and congrats on the WO I thank you for what you do. My cousin went over for 1 year and took shrapnel in the leg from an RPG. IMO if you "fight" or not. you are the greatest Americans. God bless you good sir.

1. Specialized S-Works (04)
2. No idea, I read EVERY SINGLE ONE of your 476 posts, checked your website, could NOT find it... Fender on both?
3. The Air Force discontinued its warrant officer program in 1959 following a comprehensive review of warrant officer utilization as technicians and mid-level managers. They determined that structure, training and retention needs were best served by eliminating their warrant officer program. There were approximately 4,500 Air Force warrant officer authorizations when this decision was made.
While warrant officers provide excellent technical expertise, the Air Force determined that they are not sufficiently flexible for utilization outside of their technical specialty. Officers provide the flexibility for use in a broad span of managerial and career broadening assignments which are necessary to meet Air Force requirements. Technical administrative duties such as acquisition, logistics and scientific duties were felt to be best performed by officers, while "hands on" technical duties such as data systems operations, radar and avionics maintenance could be best performed by the enlisted force.
Personnel management efficiencies were realized by eliminating one personnel management system and erasing the overlap of status, responsibility and authority between the enlisted, warrant, and officer ranks. This action additionally created an increase in promotion opportunity for the senior enlisted force.
Historical Note - The last Air Force Warrant Officer was a reservist who was promoted to CW5 and retired in August 1992. This was the only Air Force Warrant Officer promoted to this grade.

4. 2 years at W-1
5. Army Medical Department Center and School
6. The closest I can find is this, from one of your old posts: "I must have heard a hundred times from SGTS through Colonels "you know they never F#$K with a Warrant Officer."

Any way it doesn't matter what branch or what rank. if I'm in a foxhole with you and we're saving each other's asses all that shit doesn't make a bit of difference."

Re: Contest/celebration

after additional checking, can I change my answer on #6 to "Warrant officers, who account for only about 1.1 percent of active-duty military personnel, currently serve as senior technical experts and managers in a wide variety of occupational specialties and, in the Army, as pilots of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. In rank, they fall between enlisted personnel and commissioned officers (second lieutenant or ensign through general or admiral). Because the number of warrant officers is small, few people outside the individual services' communities of warrant officers know very much about their roles and management. That lack of knowledge hampers any discussion of possible new roles for warrant officers."

So basically like JKBD33 said, you're in between enlisted/commissioned?

Yeah, congrats on the promotion. Sadly, I was in the Air Force, and I don't know why there aren't any WO's. Good luck though.

Re: Contest/celebration

Alright, sorry for taking awhile to get back some results....

There really isn't an answer to why no one ever f#%k$ with a Warrant but I hear it again and again and yet again from SGT - COL (good find illuminatus)

Jkbd33 - 3/5 darn good. (I was talking Road bicycle but yes I did own a Katana at one time.)

illuminatus - also 4/5 be more specific on the Guitars there not that obscure. no it's not a Martin the old ones are great but I don't think the new ones are nearly as nice and there are better values out there IMHO.

ninja vanish - 0/5 but I got a chuckle out of it.

Also thanks for the congrats. In all honesty I am a WOC. I still have Warrant Officer Basic to attend before I attain W-1 but I am confident in my success with the 2 -2 wk courses as I have yet to fail any of the military courses I've taken and God know I've taken a few.
