Gurkha Legend 8 yrs aged Torpedo

Well I tried my hand at my first cigarbid auction. I bid on 5 of these and won for $37. Anyone tried one of these? MSRP $20? each? I would like to know how quickly these get to you...and if this is a good cigar. Ive heard good things but would like some advice about this site and this cigar.

He shoots......he scores!!!!! Nice pick up! I've had one and it was great. Not worth the $20 pricetag, but for what you got 'em for, oh yeah!

If you don't like 'em, I know where you can get rid of a few!

Re: Gurkha Legend 8 yrs aged Torpedo

I'm really not good at describing taste, sorry. It's been a few months but seems I remember a sort of a nice mellow tobacco, woodsy, creamyness kinda. But that's just me.

I paid $18 locally. Needless to say, I only bought one. The store had just got some in and I got the "you've got to try these" speech. I gave in. I usually do.

Re: Gurkha Legend 8 yrs aged Torpedo

Well I appreciate your help. $18 seems about right for the gurkhas sold at my local shop. I wonder if cigarbid is legit...do they reband...sell nonsense there? I also wonder how long it will be before I get these bad boys.

Re: Gurkha Legend 8 yrs aged Torpedo

I bought some a little while back for about 7 or 8 dollars each, they are actually a really good smoke, quite complex. I like them better the the Gurka centurion double x that MSRP for even more.

Re: Gurkha Legend 8 yrs aged Torpedo

I don't like these cigars. They don't taste like much and they are certainlly not worth $20.00 each. I don't think they're worth what you paid for them either which is $8.00 each once you include shipping.

No CBid doesn't "reband"

CBID is legit, CigarsInternational.com owns cbid. Top notch service and great prices.

Great score on those Gurkhas

I second what ShawnP said. That's the cigar that set me on this slippery slope.

Re: Gurkha Legend 8 yrs aged Torpedo

texan I have now read many many reviews on the cigar...all saying the cigar is astounding. The cheapest I could find a 5 pack is for $89. For $40 with shipping I think it was worth the try. Ive been dying to try gurkhas for the longest time but the only ones in my area are so over priced. It seems the cat is in the minority with his opinion on this cigar.

Re: Gurkha Legend 8 yrs aged Torpedo

Hey, liked these cigars. I've had the perfecto $10 ea. and, I think, robusto $5 ea.

If you want to try its bigger, badder brother, try the Gurkha Beast. It has same 8 yr aged tobacco and pre embargo in it as well.

Let us know what you think.

Re: Gurkha Legend 8 yrs aged Torpedo

Well they have been shipped...I will smoke one the first night and give a review. I do wonder in shipping how not keeping them warmer might effect the wrapper. Anyone else have issues with cold shipping? Im in the heart of snow country so it does make me wonder how they will take care of my babies.

Re: Gurkha Legend 8 yrs aged Torpedo

Better let them rest from shipping for 1-2 weeks after you get them or they won't be so good due to the fluctuations in temperature and humidity as they travel to you...I use CBid a lot...great site...
