Do you remember?

Your first good cigar? As i lit up this Ashton VSG torpedo im smoking, it made me remember smoking my first one of these during a meteor shower last winter. The VSG was the first $10 smokes ive ever had and the first cigar that made me say WOW thats what these guys online are talking about. Before that i had only tried the thompson cigars that came in my humi and a few others nice ones i bought at the B&M, but nothing great. Of course before that it was swisher sweets and white owls!

Ive had plenty of cheaper cigars that i really enjoy, but this was the first one that comes to mind and can say made me appreciate cigars and want more!

Re: Do you remember?

My first significant cigar that started me into this lifestyle was an Arturo Fuente on a cruise ship during my honeymoon. It was a clear night and a full moon reflecting on the ocean. That cigar was excellent!

Re: Do you remember?

Strangely enough, a Gran Habano #3 in May of this year (when I started seriously with cigars).
This one broke those "old stogie" barriers and showed me what was possible.
It has all been "down the slope" from there.
I am soooo grateful!!

Re: Do you remember?

I remember my first one, thought it tasted like! I don't remeber what kind it was, but it was from a small liquor store. It was a box of AF Curly Head deluxe that REALLY got me hooked.

Yes...a Davidoff No.2 with a good mate of mine in a nearby pub. That's when I really got into all this...

Re: Do you remember?

The first time I smoked a premium cigar was while watching the Perseid meteor shower in 1990. It was an Ashton Aged maduro #30 (?). My buddy brought it back from a trip to Washington D.C. and I smoked it while sitting in a chair in my pasture, watching the sky, drinking some beer and smoking cigars with my buddy. Though I sold the ranch and moved many miles away, I still follow the same tradition every year in August.

5 Vegas Original Double Corona bought at Put-in-Bay,Ohio. Of all people I saw my old high school golf coach and he was stunned, yet amused to see me smoking a cigar.

Re: Do you remember?

It was an Opus X Robusto and it kicked my ass. I smoked it while watching the video about Chateau Fuente.

I actually don't remember, believe it or not. One of the first cigars that I remember is a Diablo Picante.. Good stuff!

Re: Do you remember?

The cigar that brought me over was the Padron Delicias. The I tried the Padron 64 Principe. There was no turning back.
Many great ones since but I will always be a Padron man.

Re: Do you remember?

I smoked a lot of crap I don't remember. I think the first one that made me say "Hey, there's much better stuff out there" was a Java corona. Now, I don't even smoke those.
