Re: When storing

I like closed because it protects the cigars from spikes or dips in humidity when the cooler is opened.

However, it probably doesn't matter one bit anyway as the cigar will retain enough of its own moisture for the short period of time it drops when you open it until it gets back up to 65 or 70% whatever you store at.

Re: When storing

I have always left mine closed. I'm like a kid with a gift though when i get them and I always have to break the seal and look inside. Someday I will put a box away without ever opening. I keep trying.

Seal broke for inspection, but stored with lid closed for protection, space, and stacking reasons. I wouldn't even consider storing a box without inspection. Beetles, mold, other forms of damage and then all that time later you finally break open your aged cigars to find them ruined or worse yet the rest of your cooler is damaged by the un-inspected boxes plague. Not me.

Re: When storing

I always inspect the cigars. If there is a problem you know about it in time to call customer service and before you expose the rest of your collection. I freeze mine also just in case.

Too funny, as I do the same thing and have not put a box away without rifling thru it, picking some up, and then talking to them. Uh oh, I might have said too much.

Re: When storing

I always inspect the contents for mold, beetles damage etc. They get put away and checked every few months or so mold and beetles. I have always been of the opinion that some fresh air circulation every few months is good for cigars. Thus...
Talking to your sticks every few months is OK...Daily conversation isn't
