custom rolled cigars

I've heard about them but never really known much about it.
What is it? Expensive? Do you get to choose your own flavor profile and size?

basically, what's the buzz about?

As far as I know you can choose or customize the blend to fit your flavor profile, strength etc. I haven't' tried a custom yet and yes they are a little pricey.

I'm going to Vegas in a few weeks and was told I could get rolled cigars at Case Fuetes.....I will let you all know if they are any good....

Depends really. Sometimes a cuban master roller (Taboada, Morales, Paredes, etc) do events where they roll their own custom blend. Then there are some places you can go to get cigars whipped up to your specifications as well.

Personally, I look at it like this:
While I could go to a roller and say to him I like a med-full profile, and I'm sure he'll be able to roll me a spot on smoke, when I go to a bar and want a cocktail, I'll ask the barman for his favourite cocktail first, try that and see what I think... I like the fact the roller I saw roll (and purchased a couple of sticks, still to try!) was making cigars that he would want to smoke... because I know he's going to roll that cigar spot on every time as far as the blend goes because it's what he truly wants to roll. But it will give you an idea of the wide variety when it comes to what people smoke, and who knows, maybe you'll find a new blend you like!
