I'm not addicted. I just enjoy the aroma, taste, and aesthetics of cigars. Also, the social aspect of a cigar community such as CS is wonderful.

Along Jeff's lines, I am more addicted to CS and being a part of this community than I am to cigars. The fact that I rarely smoke alone anymore makes me think the social element is the most important. But I do love cigars, but as Robert Palmer said, "You're gonna have to face it , you're addicted to love" ....

I need another category - I am addicted and don't have any desire to quit!

I have already slain so many of my other personal demons over the years - if cigars kill me (or more likely bankrupt me) - then so be it.

Everyone has to die - you might as well die from something that you like.

Addicted in the sense that I have to have one every day? Hell no... I have one maybe 2-3 times a week, if that.. I do enjoy collecting them, saving the bands of the ones I do smoke, and reviewing the smoke in my mind, then oftentimes on forums related to stogies...

See I smoke cigars and cigarettes. I used the poll for cigars only so I can honestly say I am addicted to all aspects of cigars but if I wanted to I could quit smoking them but I would never want to.


Now cigarettes, no way could I quit on my own. I am addicted and I have tried many times to quit with no luck. I really wish I could though.

I don't think I am "addicted" I mean I love to buy them and let them sit in one of the humis. But I think I am more addicted to the social aspect of going to the B&M and puffing with the guys and hangin out and turning of the world for an hour or two. You've just go to do it. Not to mention CS, of course.

I'll share my quitting experience. I used the nicotrol inhaler to quit smoking cigarettes. It was the only thing that worked. I tried many times before that. I think because with the inhaler you still get the hand to mouth thing. Also for the first week or so I avoided my friends that smoked and I think that helped. Plus you really need to WANT to quit and I didn't have that determination the first 15 times. Just keep trying and eventually it'll happen.

Nope. If I thought so, they'd be outta here.

The only addiction I've ever had (yep, I've had a few) that I couldn't kick is sugar. I love ice cream, cake, cookies, bananacreampie........

I'm not addicted and could quit if I had to, but why would I want to. Summers I smoke maybe 8-9 Cigars a week. In the winter its maybe 1 a week so I don't see that as being addicted. I do however love the smell of good cigars and buying them and caring for them in my humi's and cooladors. I also enjoy CS and the diverse group of primates we have here.

Smoked cigarettes for 20 years, quit cold turkey, after 18 years I picked up a cigar in a local liquor store on my way to the lake and have been smoking cigars for the past two months. Still no desire for cigarettes. I am addicted to the social aspect of cigars, but not to them.
