Not excited about Padron 1964 anniversary-only one?

I just smoked(maduro) and was excited to do so based on all the great reviews. It burned very well but the flavor did not seem exciting. I enjoyed my recent saint luis rey G and oliva v much more.

I also curious why the cigar itself felt so light. I like a cigar to feel kind of heavy in my hand. Make me think it is more solid.

Do I need to be educated about all this? Am I misguided?

Perhaps you just didn't like it. That's good news for you because now you don't have to pony up the jack to pay for them.

I tend to favor the naturals with the Anny and '26 line.

I haven't had one in quite some time (prob 2 + years), but remember them being pretty solid, not light at all. I think there are a lot of newer cigars that have better price performance ratio in my opinion, including the ones you point out. They do fake the anny cigars, but in my opinion, that is probably a Miami thing and very unlikely.

smoked one a couple years ago, and I didn't like it either, but thats learning the way of the cigar. take the good and the bad and find what you like. cigar smoking is a risk and you have to take it sometimes.

I am kind of excited because mostly my experience with other things is that you get what you pay for

Not when it comes to taste. There are plenty of high dollar cigars that were just not good at all, to me. On the other hand, I smoke some $1-2 cigars that I think are really good.

Taste knows no price.

BLASPHEMY!

Just kiddin.
Which one was it? For me, the Principe has the most flavor although I have not tried the 40th and 80th.

That is funny, I love the PAM's but I really don't like Saint Luis Rey cigars. I guess that is why there are so many different brands and blends.

Well I was just out visiting my Aristocrat and some of the Padron 1964 clan who currently reside there said they were not too excited about you either. They did mention you might want to meet some of their older family members, i.e. the 1926 clan.

Smoke what you like. High price doth not a great cigar make

I prefer the 26 line over the 64's. If you like heavy cigars try the Taboo Twists.
