I thought I might as well share my experience with you all.

As some of you may know, i had a shipment coming from the NHC through my friend Don Fernando in the Netherlands. Upon receiving, he would have then forwarded me the cigars to Finland, so, that we could avoid the hefty taxes here.

Oh well, nothing went like i had planned. My precious shipment, including i.e. a box of the Illusione ECCJ 15 and an Tatuaje sampler, got inspected by the Netherland Customs Office. A thing that never has led to any actions according to Don. Then... just my luck... the cigars were confiscated by customs and destoyed ...DESTROYED...

aarrggghhh!

Money down the drain? NOT EVEN CLOSE!

I contacted Dan at NHC and told him the story, provided him with the letter from the customs and asked if at least the ECCJ 15 could be sent again. Unlucky me, the ECCJ 15 was already sold out, BUT Dan came through for me and credited the amount of the cigars to my credit card!

THANK YOU DAN!!! that is what i call friendly service...

SO, i did not get to review the Illusione ECCJ15 and the Tatuajes on my blog (seems to be an impossible thing for me to get done), but Dan really saved my day by doing what he did...

This does not surprise me. New Havana (along with Taboo) has always offered top notch customer service, in my opinion.

That is a heart breaking story. I am glad Dan took care of you, but why did they have to destroy some great cigars. You know the customs agent saw some great cigars and he is destroying them one at a time while sitting on his porch.

Stupid question, but why was destroying them necessary? It's not like it's CC's coming into America.

beats me... according the letter from customs, importing cigars to Netherlands is not allowed... i think they just did it 'cause they felt like it and 'cause they can...

the most irritating thing is, that i did not get the ECCJ 15 and the tats to review them on my blog. I have been trying to get wide selections of both brands, but no luck to date. I guess i just have to order them and pay the double price as the Finnish taxes will be added to the price...

I have never had this happen in all the years I have been sending and
receiving cigars. Called the mail this week for an unrelated package and
they told me it was allowed to send tobacco and cigars, but limited
amounts/value.

NHC and Taboo stand alone in customer support. I shop at both just because of that.

that might have something to do with it... but no large value was on the shipment... i feel bad for the cigars, i am fine though...

You know that those cigars where tasty when the customs officials "destroyed" them. What a shame.
