Those damn stinky cigars...
I've been smoking a lot of cigars with my friends and a few of them have been developing a palate for them. That said, others haven't. These friends have been asking about flavored cigars. Rather then smoking alone, I decided to try to help them out.
Well, maybe I should've just bought them some Grape Swisher sweets, but I didn't. Thats not the way I roll. I bought a few Acid Kuba Kuba's and Earthiness's. I also got a few CAO flavored that my wife was eyeing up. I must have told the guy at CI five times, they're not for me and don't put them in the bag with the DPG's. He knew not too. The whole experience was a bit embarrasing. I don't smoke flavored cigars, really I don't. ![]() I double bagged them and threw in a Boveda and then put them into one of my older humidors. So, should I have told them real men don't smoke flavored cigars, or am I on the right track? Did anyone here start with flavored cigars?

Re: Those damn stinky cigars...
I actually got started smoking Acids while deployed then did a bity of reading and tried some other stuff and found there is much better than the Acids. Consider it a Gateway smoke.

Re: Those damn stinky cigars...
Other than swishers when I was a kid I started on cojimar vanillas and I still keep some on hand occasionally still smoke them and give away some. Mostly I think I have lost the taste for them now that I can appreciate the flavors of the cigar itself. I do find that woman and people who don’t normally smoke cigars like them and that can help the social atmospheric. A few of the Joes that I have given the to have started to come to cigar night at the Tiki Hut and are started down the

I noticed that a lot of troops were requesting them. Hmm. Maybe I'm on the right track.

Re: Those damn stinky cigars...
Confession: Acids were one of first cigars I smoked and great choice of words from Av8tor to call them Gateway smokes. If your friends enjoy them, then down the road they could enjoy Illusiones and Tats.

Re: Those damn stinky cigars...
A friend of mine, who was a cigar aficionado long before I started down the slope, put me onto Miami Suites. They have some decent flavored cigars, such as rum, honey, Irish cream and amaretto. He said that he smoked these to tide him over during times when he didn't have the time for a premium stick. Since I started smoking premium sticks I don't buy these anymore, but they are good for people who generally don't smoke cigars.

Re: Those damn stinky cigars...
As a follow up, the "Stinky" cigars went over very well. My wife loved the Moontrance and my friend loved the Eileen's Dream.
Besides the unpleasant smell that the cigars put off,[that I am not at liberty to complain about]it was a great evening which ended with a couple of box purchases from CI.

Re: Those damn stinky cigars...
I did not smoke flavored cigars when I started. I have smoked a CAO Karmasutra Splash that was given to me, and I did not care for it. I have also smokes a few of the Java's and they were okay. If flavored cigars are what you, or your friends like, I say smoke what you like.

Phillies, Swishers.....when I was younger and into greener smokes, I was also into flavored cigars.
Consider it a start....it's like to make a scotch drinker, they first have to like whiskey....otherwise the scotch may be too overwhelming for their palate.
