Strolled into Tampa Sweetheart's today.

I strike up a conversation with an employee who looks familiar and lo and behold it's Arturo Fuente Jr. I also got to meet Fuente Sr. Very cool guys that don't seem all 'self-important' like some other icons of the cigar world (Rocky, this means you!). My camera was in the car but of course I didn't think to retrieve it.

They have pretty much everything in stock although they are running low on some Hemingway Maduro sizes. They're getting their next shipment of Maduros and the 2008 God of Fire in November. I picked up a few maduros and my first 2 GOFs. I just hope I don't like the GOF too much...they're more expensive than drugs!

I don't think you are supposed to smoke them. You just keep them on hand to look at, and to keep them from your friends. It's kinda like Nigel Tuffnell's guitars on Spinal Tap -- he didn't even play some of them, and wouldn't.

I haven't had a GOF yet but I smoked both hemingway maduros and they were excellent! They've really reinvigorated my interest in Hemingways...the naturals in signature size were all I smoked for about 5 years but I've recently burned out on them. I'll definitely be picking more maduros up at every opportunity.

Cool bro. Glad you had a good time!

Maybe you'll be around for the Ybor City Cigar Festival and the Tampa Herf?

Question Re: Strolled into Tampa Sweetheart's today.

I haven't experienced a GOF yet, but it seems that I read of people having wrapper problems or something..
Any silverbacks care to weight in on my comments?
And not to thread jack, I bet it would be cool to meet a LEGEND!

I was only down for my brother's wedding...he had the reception at The Columbia. I could definitely see getting back down there on a 'garcation...definitely worth it for all of the cigar bars and Tampa Sweetheart alone.
