Home Smoking room
Just curious if anyone living in the very hot and humid South has a home smoking room with ventilation. I've got approval from the "boss" to convert a spare bedroom to a smoking room, but I don't know how I'm going to keep the room cool while smoking. I have a ceiling fan in the room now, but I don't know if that will disrupt what the exhaust fan is trying to do. Anybody got any experience with this in a warm climate?
Jay

Re: Home Smoking room
I just open both bedroom windows, and let the circular airflow sort it all out (soon, I'll have my own hot and humid balcony for this...move the wrought iron furniture out there and ahhhhh).
Amusingly my windows are more effective than the AC in the apartment is. It's about an instant 3-4f dorp in temps by opening the window, compared to using the central air and having the door closed.

I have given this idea much though but have settled for a box fan on the porch with me for right now. When I have some spare time I plan to rip up the carpet and put some vent fans in the windows. I hadn't thought about the portable ac unit but I will look into one. And by the way, WAR EAGLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

It depends on how much it is used. Mine only needs emptying once every 2 days when it runs around the clock and all I do is put a bucket behind it and pull the plug. I only use it around the clock when the main air has been out (which is another great reason to own one). If you are only using it a few hours here and there it shouldn't need emptying very often at all.

Re: Home Smoking room
As you know, I have a 700 CFM fan that exhausts out the roof. I am in need of a A/C unit because it sucks all the conditioned air out of the room in 10 minutes on the highest setting. I would definitely get an A/C unit to keep yourself comfortable.
