storing bundles in celophane?

I did a quick search for this topic & came up empty.
I want to conserve space in my humidor.
What is the consensous on leaving celophane wrapped bundles unopened
in my humidor? These are obviously cigars I plan to "age" for a bit.
The small cube of the bundles & the abilty to shift them around easily & neatly is the reason for my querry. Thanks!

Re: storing bundles in celophane?

it probbably falls under the same theory or catagory as keeping the individual cigars in the cellophane.

General consensus is that cellophane in permeable and keeping cigars in them for aging (bundles or individually) is fine.

Re: storing bundles in celophane?

As long as they are in your humidor, there should be no problem keeping in the original cello. Cello is air/rh permeable.

Re: storing bundles in celophane?

You've got your answer already however, I just wanted to add everyone is correct most cigars do have cello on them already and usually just leave the cello on, also many cigars are bought with out cello so I toss them in and let them age.

As far as aging cigars hell I just can't keep my hands out of them long enough. I just gotta smoke'em....

Good luck....

I keep them wrapped, they are easier to stack.

Re: storing bundles in celophane?

Just like how the Graycliff Double Espressos are packaged in a mazo tied with a ribbon, I do the exact same with my bundles & loose sticks (if I have more than 8 or 10 of them).

I lay them out, wrap a 1.5 inch ribbon or strip of muslin/cotton around them and set them in the humi like a wheel at the factory!

Re: storing bundles in celophane?

I currently have 20 or so bundles that I have kept in the original wrappings. whenever a new one is opened, and a stick smoked, I can't see that it has hurt anything.

That's how B&M's store them as do the manufacturers.

I keep celloed like that, tubos like that. I'd say leave them on; it's extra protection.

Re: storing bundles in celophane?

I don't like to store in celo. I only do it for my top shelf sticks cus I don't want a damaged foot to ruin my day

Re: storing bundles in celophane?

I store mine as bundles as well. Conserves space. I find that I can never store them in the same space when they're removed from the bundles.
