LOL I actually bat better if I've had a stogie earlier. I'm calmer and more relaxed at the plate.

Re: Cigars + active sports = ?
I figure I inhale far more harmful fumes from cars while out running in a month than I do in an entire year of smoking cigars and pipes in a well-ventilated area. I do lay off anything with stimulants (cigars, coffee, etc.) for a few days if I'm planning a big run or hike since they tend to make me jittery.

Re: Cigars + active sports = ?
I'm a really active person. Run 4miles every morning, ride my mt bike a lot, hiking, you get the idea. I'm almost a health freak which surprises people when I tell them I smoke. I've been smoking for a couple years, I don't have that smokers cough or anything like that, and feel no affects from smoking at all(I don't inhale).

Re: Cigars + active sports = ?
Like many things in life, different people are affected differently. You'll have to see how your body reacts, but as has been said many times, moderation is the key.
I also tend to agree that being active helps to limit the affects in my experience.

Re: Cigars + active sports = ?
I normally have one after the game is over as opposed to before. That seems to work out really well. I don't notice a difference in performance, not that can be attributed to cigars over aging and the toll of injuries anyhow.
I am 40 in the spring and can still play amateur tournament level soccer in the open divisions. For the first day of the tournament anyhow ![]() see how it goes and cut it out if you think you need to, every body's different but I don't think it's going to cause much of a hit from the frequency you appear to have one. Don't inhale them right? Right! Michael Jordan interview, about 3/4 page down they get into cigars a bit enjoy and welcome to CS

Re: Cigars + active sports = ?
Moderation is key, I think...two weeks ago I summited Mt Elbrus, in Russia, which is 18,501 feet. I did NOT have to take Diamox, the drug that stimulates your body into making extra red blood cells. I am in decently good shape, but still had two cigars a week in a well ventilated area prior to going...and I was fine. I only notice ill effects if I have been nose smoking or not mindful of ambient smoke in an indoor setting.

Re: Cigars + active sports = ?
I run and mountain bike also. And I average 1 cigar every evening. Nothing like a good run, shower, eat, then smoke a cigar and drink some beers. Kinda contradictory, but i haven't seen any ill effects yet. I usually stop at McDonald's too on my way home from a good mountain bike trip. LOL.

I work on my car and smoke at the same time. I need to drop the fuel tank next what do you think would go well with that job.

I play competitive hockey, and haven't noticed any negative changes since I took up cigars.
