If you are going to be in Orlando and aren't going to be terribly mobile (ie if you don't have a rental car) your best bet will be to hit up Corona Cigar Comapy's retail location in Orlando. It's not too far from the Convention Centers (just guessing that that's the area you will be in).

As for what to buy, see if you can visit the place twice during your stay. Once to pick up singles to sample and a second time to buy the boxes of what you like.

Also, you don't really need to limit yourself to 4 boxes if you plan on making friends on yor trip. Say you have friends or new acquaintances who are on the same flight as you who aren't loading up on tobacco you could ask them to include some boxes in their count for you.

Failing that, there are several Canada friendly companies who can ship to you (see my Sig line for link). The only down side to that for you is that Northern Air is a pretty brutal mail delivery system (according to Craig anyways).

Bottom line is enjoy your vacation and stay active with CS and I'm sure you will find lots of info and we will be able to ease you down the slope!
Speaking of Craig, did he also take the summer off from CS, i have I just been missing his posts?

Re: My Cigar Dilemma - Not That Bad Actually!

There are some great suggestions in this post. I will second the Padron 64 maduros I prefer the larger sticks. I am also a big fan of Rockey Patel 92 in the churchill size. Carlos Torano in the Signature series any size but beware the perfectos are like candy. Happy Shopping and most of all enjoy.............

Re: My Cigar Dilemma - Not That Bad Actually!

Ahhhhhhh!!!

Well I smoked a God of Fire yesterday and picked up 5 cigars for evenings on the balcony here at the hotel including a Padron 1926 #9 natural that didn't last long in my baggie!

I also have a Hemmingway Short Story, a Diamond Crown Maximus Robusto, a Tatuaje Cojonu 2003 Churchill, and an Illusione M7 to pass the evenings until Saturday when I will descend on the store again for the mother lode.

Hello PolarGar,

I'm the guy that recommended those cigars to you at Corona's the other day. I hope you're enjoying them so far. I'd also like to thank you for the two ISOMs you gave me. If you let me know what time you're coming in on Saturday I'll come in and give a few sticks of mine as a show of gratitude.

Hey Great!

I'd like to say here for all to read that you need to look this lad up when you hit the store - great guy with terrific taste.

Thanks again - I'm pleased you enjoyed the "forbidden fruit".

I am not sure when I will be in tomorrow, but I am very much looking forward to it. It will almost positively be prior to noon however.

Thanks again for the hookup!

Nice, I love to see the vast expanses of our world covered by this sweet club.
Trusly amazing if you ask me. From Canada to Tampa. Meet the same people online. Wow.

I'm intrigued to hear what you end up buying. Been wanting to hear about some smokes you're trying like the short stories, and the Tatuaje conju.
CURRENT production Short stories especially! hear they were great 6-7 eyars ago, and went downhill.

aloha from the Big Island~

Re: My Cigar Dilemma - Not That Bad Actually!

I can't say much about the short story as it turned out to be a very long story. The humidity on my deck here at the hotel is about 113% and when I tried to smoke the wrapper leaf refused to burn properly. I smoked just about three quarters of an inch in 35 mins.

It is odd that we are referred to as gorillas here as I just finished a seminar on gorilla marketing.

Re: My Cigar Dilemma - Not That Bad Actually!

Well I am back from another fantastic visit to heaven on earth - the Corona Cigar Factory in Orlando.

I will have to wait til I get home to give you the gory details but I got a box of 12 Anniversary Patel Robustos as well as a box of an Avo blend done especially for the company. I have a bunch of the house blends and an assortment of others. One cool surprise was a $75.00 value Avo cigar punch that came with the box.

My new buddy who I bombed got me back bombed bigtime! Thanks again!

I approve this message Except I think that a box of DCMs will prolly set you back $350 at a minimum. But well worth it.

Re: My Cigar Dilemma - Not That Bad Actually!

I am very happy to report that all 97 sticks purchased or gifted during this trip have made it without one single pinch, tear, or break and are resting comfortably in my cigar foot locker humi.

That is nearly a 5000 mile trip through customs twice and a half dozen overhead compartments and they are in perfect shape! Its karma I tell you - more people should associate with cigar smokers I say!
