Re: Thankyou from a soldier

If someone would send me some information about this I would love to get involved. I have been wanting to do this for awhile but didnt know how to do it. I would be happy to help organize this. I say lets put together some stuff and pack it in a coolador and ship out some goodies. Here are my thoughts on what to try getting together. Also if any of you have contacts with your local B&M copy this information and take it to them and see if they would like to donate.
Lets pick a projected shipping date and have everyone turn everything in the week before that date. Have the shipping person inventory and take pictures to post on the forum. RJT

Things to put together for the troops:
Cigars (of course)
cigar books
Cigar magazines, current and old editions
Cigar cutters
punch cutters
travel type humidors
durable cigar cases like the Le Tube style
small bottles of distilled water
50/50 solution
humidifiers to make humidors out of ammo cans
plastic bags for storage
(CASH DONATIONS FOR SHIPPING)

The following would need to be check on to see if it was OK to send or any shipping restrictions.
Lighters
butane
matches
Alcohol (in airplane style bottles for easy shipping)

Other things to consider?
Playing or poker cards
small hand held games like Poker, black jack, etc...
calling cards

ANY OTHER THOUGHTS? RJT

Re: Thankyou from a soldier

Thought of another item to send...
Humidity beads

My thoghts were this on how to package stuff. All the cigars put in packages of 2 to 5 cigars each. With mixing done as close as possible.

Along with the other stuff do it as a game like draw out of the hat type situation or something. Then put directions on how to do it.

This is eaisly done this way.....Lets say that we have 50 items. Put #1 thru 50 on a small piece of paper. Also include some blank paper the same size.

Now put all the # paper along with the blank paper to total the # of people in on the drawing. The folks that draw a # get to draw for the prizes. The prizes will be also put on paper the items to be drawn.

Make a game of it. Then let them share how they want to after the game.

This will be a great thing, I am looking foward to this. A great cause and it will be fun to put together.Lets make it happen.I can call my connection at JR's and probably get some stuff like some "Cigar Magazine's" I also have some other connections I can use. RJT

I think Rich is a good POC for us since most of us are out and about working, he can handle the logistics and coordination from this end between his 2nd & 3rd movie on shift, not before his video games....priorities you know...JK Rich, he should also have the pics from the other day out by the "Smoke Shack" of a few of us. Not everyone made it due to mission stuff, but I am sure Operation Herfganistan shall rise again.

We (Zipstyle USA LLC) have done many donations through Fort Hood. I wondered if you have seen any of them? We donated 2400 cigar cutters
and 2000 lighters. The donation was set up through General Tommy Franks (RET.) These items were sent to Fort Hood (MWR) attention 4th Infantry Division.
If we can be of any assistance to you we would be extemely happy to help.

We personally thank you for your incredible patriotism toward our country.

Regards,
