Re: Tubos question

IMO - I smoke 2 sticks that come in tubes R&J Reserva Real - love them - no non tubes that I have come acros. The other is the Punch Grand Puro - both tube and non. Not that I care how they come, but I do find they tube ones seem to smoke and taste better. I buy them when I have a choice. Not sure how much that helped.

Re: Tubos question

The reason I ask is that I've seen several posts that specifically state that a cigar was a tubo. I have some RyJ R#2 and Partgas shorts that were tubos. I've sent them for trades but didn't specify that they were tubos. Does that make a difference?

I have tried a few cigars that come in both the Tubes and non. I never noticed any real difference between the two that would convince me to buy the Tubo version over the box.
I do however, ocassionally buy non-perfecto shape cigars in Tubo versions because I like to re-use the tubes. They make great travel companions in my pocket and prevent the cigar from being crushed.

Tubos are supposed to keep the humidity locked in for looooong periods of time or so I have read, but have not tested this theory myself.

Never seen a Short in a tubo. I love SigII tubos.

Opps. My mistake. The Short Tubo is actually a Coronas Junior Tubo.

Re: Tubos question

I like the Punch Royal Corination. It comes as a tubo, which is handy to just drop in a pocket.

That's a good answer.

Re: Tubos question

Tubos also make great gifts to those who normally wouldn't stockpile cigars.

As was said before, it can be stuck in their pocket (I usually stick them in a ziplock first) and then taken on their way.

Also has great presentation value for weddings, events, etc.
