Exclamation SOS: Taboo Twist Won't Light

Hey,

Well sitting out here on the balcony and the gf and I are trying to light a Taboo Twist with no luck. It just continually seems to go out. When we can actually get it going for more then a couple puffs it just seems to be burning in the centre and not the outside. Any suggestions?

Did you just get it? Sounds like the wrapper is still wet and the stick probably could have used some down time in the humi. The first one I smoked had this problem but once I got past the 1/2 inch mark she seemed to smoke pretty decent only needing touch ups from time to time. I recently ordered a 5er and let them lay down in the humi for a few weeks and the first one smoked terrific. I'm only guessing but I am thinking Rob may be shipping these fairly quickly after they are rolled to keep up with demand so you may have just gotten one that was still wet from production.

Ah yea, it just arrived last week. Had a water pillow but I'm guessing you may be right. I'll let the rest age for a bit before getting on them but since we started this one might as well keep trying. Just wish it wasn't the only twist.

Thanks!

Probably too wet from the water pillow. The cigar should be ready but it is over humidified. How thick was the pillow when you received the shipment?

Don't be too hard on Dan, Rob.

He might have confused that shipment with mine that is en route to Mexico where that extra water pillow is needed.

Yes, we do make sure you get the water pillows. I appreciate the orders. Mexico shipments are going to catch up with Canada shipments if you keep it up.

Thank You and all CS Members

I'm thinking since this shipment went to Canada, Dan wet the pillow too much thinking he was doing a good thing. Either way, I think the cigar needs to rest away from the pillow.

Sorry this happened. Let them rest another week. If you have problems after that pm me and I will contact you.

Re: SOS: Taboo Twist Won't Light

Probably does not really matter how much water you put in the pillow. During the summer the warmer weather will raise the humidity in the bag quite a lot and cause the cigars inside to over humidify during shipment.

I like to dry box smokes a day especially after shipping, that gets most of the extra moisture out.

The ratings of it were pretty high and we were kinda impatient so we kept trying and burned the hell out of the end of it before giving up. Gonna try relighting it after it sits in a humi or might have to order another Twist to get the full effect of it. I hear it's pretty awesome.

Had an order of 11 (10 piece Taboo sampler pack and a Rum Runner), the Rum Runner is in the humi already and the Twist is partially done so that leaves nine more. Though here in lies the problem.....the humi won't hold them all . I was using the bag with the water pillow as temp storage for the other Taboo's. So I'll have to figure out something. I'll wait till I get them in a humi to try the rest but I'm sure they'll be as great as everyone says!

Yea, it's been torrential downpour all afternoon and evening. Let up for a bit and the gf and I headed out to the balcony to have a couple stogies and watch some episodes of Sliders.
