At 1200 rpm, it 39CFM and only 25dBA (essentially inaudible). Even at 2000rpm, it's only 30dBA (79CFM) which when placed inside a wooden box and that box itself placed inside a cabinet, might as well be 0dBA since you aren't going to hear it.
I've been meaning to build something like this myself since I have a spare outlet inside my cabinet and the little hydra fan add on is a whiny little bugger that I'm not crazy about.
I just need an AC/DC adapter + timer control to a 5V fan like that.

I didn't have space for another box in my cooler and don't need room for beads since I have a CO XL so I used one of these
fans with one of these
adapters, and a timer like
this.
It's set to run for 1/2 hour every 3 hours and keeps the RH steady to within 2 points.
