yea, The man is talented.
Totally interested to know the above. If it can work with batteries and if your beads can be inside for it to blow air thru. Also it a timer is the best way to go to conserve battery power.
Once again, you are damn creative SS! Hope it translates in sales.

I love making money doing what I love. Can't beat it !

I'm going to check the local Pet's Smart and see if they have these in stock.
They have timers at walmart. I have a bunch of them. I use them on my plant lights and aquarium.
I'd still run the fans 24/7, have yet to figure out why I'd shut them off, but I suppose it's whatever you like?
These fans are designed to run 24/7. They're continuous duty fans. I don't think it's detrimental to start and stop them constantly, but they're purposely designed for continuous use.
That in itself is the main reason why I run all my humi fans 24/7.
I think the start/stop idea comes from everyone using Oust fans.

Scott, that's a great job! I swear it looks like you bought it that way.

I'm assuming you had to disconnect the wiring to run it through the hole in the back of the box and then reconnect?

If you put beads in there, would the constant air circulation affect them in any way?

Yes, I had to to connect the wiring inside the box.
In the one pic you can see the wires tucked beside the fan. They're wire tied and zip strapped and cut to length so they fit real nice.
Yes, if you put the beads in there the constant air circulation would affect them.
It would make them work even better because of the constant exchange of air.
Richard already has a moistnaire, but if he put beads in the box and set the moistnaire about 5% lower than the beads, it'd be a beautiful thing.

Could you so this same thing but use a 5V fan and run that on batteries?

Scott, you did a great job and I want to applaud you for the nice work. You have given me an idea. If it works out I'll post some pictures. Great Job!

Don't know where to get a 5v fan, don't know the load of said fan, and have no idea how to calculate how many hours you'd get out of the batteries.
But maybe you could. Don't know.

the computer fanc have 4 wires. the black ones are the ground the yellow is the +12 and the red is the +5 if you bypass the yellow wire the fan would run on +5 volts at a lower Rpm making it quieter and possibly run longer off batteries. I think.....

That'd run up the amperage, and that'd make it even tougher on batteries.
The best thing to do would be to give it a shot.

Richard will be trying that soon, cause his box is all packed up and on it's way with the mailman in the a.m.

Exactly zero. Had all the stuff laying around.
If a guy had a cigar box, the other stuff would be under 30 bucks. Shop a little and the stuff could easily be had for under 10 bucks.
