A Tail of Two Stogies

Yesterday I had a LaFinca Robusto during my lunchtime walk. It was harsh on the start, like I had the ashe end in the mouth, smoothed out a little bit, but was on the peppery side and barely smokeable. THe Burning ash taste came back for the finish. Not a very good smoke.

Today I go out for my lunchtime smoke and have another LaFinca Robusto from the same exact box that I purchased a year and a half ago. This one had a nice spice flavor at the light, smoothed out nicely to a nice full bodied taste with a a slight sweetness to it that stayed there right up to the finish. They reminded my of the jar of Cinnamon Almonds my sister gave me for Christmas. It was a first rate smoke rivaled some of the best smokes I have had recently.

I am thinking to myself, I would easily pay $5 or $6 a cigar for these if the whole box top to bottom would taste like this cigar. Unfortunately they cannot produce this same consistancy, which is probably why they sell for about $30 a box or a little over a buck a each. You get a few of these a box great ones in each box, a couple of those harsh ones, and a bunch that fall somewhere in between.

THey have been in my rotation of daily smokes for a few years now. I have gone through a few boxes of them. I think I have always gotten the natural. I guess it is time to give the Maduro a try!!!
